LiveGMC(PC)- Submit your Dynasty stats!Hollinger PER update!

Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Postby HonorGlow on Mon Nov 21, 2005 4:58 am

...from the annals of the 2006 Birdie Project: (info)

Image
L. Patrick, the NBA unknown player that nobody has seen , takes the Wolves to new heights, upping his play and again achieving Team MVP honors with a weighted Birdie score of 28.08- and his 'reversible' Live Card will be enabled...hopefully...

Improving by almost 10 efficiency points!
This Dynasty instance is currently ranked #5 on the Official 2006 Birdie Board
L. Patrick is #1 on the Top Ten Team MVPs.

Complete 'Birdie Breakdown' coverage  click here.

BBBBBlockMe: Sorry about not noticing that second file in your e-mail. But I made corrections to your first submission on the liveGMC-side. Great job in enhancing your bench rotation! Your steals are still an issue and you may want to pull back that slider for steal effectiveness if you want to achieve more realistic steal stats. But I'm looking forward to future submissions...and of course TWO screenshots of L.Patrick.

 BBBBBlockMe submitted his 06-07 pstats! Check out it out from the previous post.

:!: Birdie Board updated on initial post above. 6 submissions strong!

Jugs, yeh for now, send your pstat file to honorglow@yahoo.com. I'm trying my best to get an automated process going here eventually. Right now there are some bug issues that I'm dealing with with the migration from 05 to 06 and of course my bonehead coding techniques before I was enlightened

Yeh, my QA process has a lot to be desired at this point. As mentioned I'm getting the kinks out of the system as I got the majority of the 05-06 migration done....tech geek speak I guess...

I'll get those things fixed...I appreciate your feedback though because that's what gets me to push a better service here...whew...

Oh. :!: jxuusa is still #1....

:!: NEW ADDITION: The Running Leaderboard!
(Check out the leading rebounders on the first post.)

Eventually, this running leading board with show all five offensive categories but for now, it took me this long just to get one of them up. By definition of 'running', I mean that it will always be based on the last 10 submissions, therefore if you submit your stats, you're guaranteed to be on the leaderboard somewhere until your not one of the '10 most recent.'

That's it for now. The overhaul of the liveGMC.com main page is almost complete...stay tuned!

Hahahah Thanks jxuusa... I should hire you for Quality control...it was like midnight when I finally posted that.. whew...

Yeh when that Texas Twister comes around..things are going to get pretty busy... Mafia is always a strong representative on the board and Seraph as well...

...and yes, I'll fix that rebound header sometime tonight along with Top Assists and scorers!

...added Top Assist Men and Scorers. Check out the top 5 from each category on the first post of this thread.

:!: ADDITIONS: best current shot blockers added to The Running Leaderboard!
...just when I thought I was almost done, I realized that there are 2 other semi-relevant categories such as FT% and FG%. Well, for now enjoy the top shot blockers posted on the first post of this thread.

As promised, there's also a link to view the entire top 10 of all the stat categories(and also my first attempt at Cascading Style Sheets):

:?: REQUEST :?:
Is there anybody good/decent with Photoshop that could contribute a banner for the Top 10 MVPs page? Look at how horrible my design skills are:

If there is someone out there...I'd be forever indebted to you and of course give you credit once the site is overhauled and stuff. Just looking for some good talent out there as I know there is in the NLSC world of banner potent sigs!

Wow, it's been a week since I posted last! yeh Guys, sorry about that...actually I haven't received any pstat submissions this week and that's one reason for the lull...

...the other reason was that 1) I have a Final project due next Monday in my software development class and 2) I'm been deep deep into attacking one of the biggest weaknesses liveGMC had last year...the LIVE CARDS..yikes so I wanted to attack that straight on..

 Coding update
 Last year, one thing I was bad at was manually filling in all the Live Card bio stuff. This week though, I developed a code script that visits basketballreference.com and finds your Team MVP's bio info and automatically fills that information into your LiveCard...talk about convenience.

...so now I have to back fill all the pre-existing Live Cards

 Another LiveCard weakness was the overall look and feel of the front-side of the card. So I am seeking help from NLSC Photoshop gurus...(or anyone interested) check it out: http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic32374.php

But thanks jxuusa, Isaiah and others keeping tabs on this thread... remember if you're closing in on your submission window for your stats...please send them my way!

 Heiks finished the regular season! Check out his results at:

...with that in mind, we have a new leader on the board!

REMEMBER...you don't have to have a Dynasty thread to submit your pstat files! All you really need is to be playing Dynast mode PC... ORRRRRRR if you have the patience to type out all your Stats from your game console that's cool too... In fact, if you do...wow, I'd be REALLY impressed!

 Added two more stat categories on the top page...Recent Steal Leaders and Field Goal percentage. Check it out on top!

...tomorrow, is my last day of Software Development class until January so I'll have more time and more opportunities to implement cool things...please write back if you happen to have any cool ideas that may be semi-easy to create. Although, I tend to have a semi-creative mind using your pstat files...I'm sure I'm missing something cool and overlooked!

...love to hear from you all! AND no...there won't be like some dynamic naked chick secret link if you get to a certain Birdie score!

...that's easy to implement but not my type of motivator in requesting your stat files!

Great, stuff, but one thing is bugging me about the site.

I'm not a big fan of the Global GMs page, so I think it would be cool (and a bit better to navigate) if you could link the team breakdowns straight from the Birdie Board. (From the team's name or birdie score or the season and its stage or even the whole line?)
Give respect, get respect.

Heiks: Thanks for your input Heiks...and yes...the GM Central page has A LOT to be desired... I'm waiting for Cocobee's Global map contribution so that I can totally revamp that page...

The one thing nice about that page is it is dynamic and automatic...If another stat comes in, I don't have to do all this manual stuff which obviously takes time. I like your idea of putting links right here on this thread.. I'm just going to have to do it tactifully. One thing about doing it here as oppose to the GM Central page is that it's just like doing a Game re-cap, everything has to be done manually which obviously takes time...but I'm definitely listening to your feedback because it's invaluable to creating a better GM experience. Between maintenence of the site and here(which is kind of like cleaning your room...just has to be done but not always that joyful) and developing PLUS wanting to play Live myself...you can see how time can get sucked up pretty quickly!

jxuusa: ...and thank you for your feedback! Now when you mean front page...front page of the website OR front page of this thread? on the website, the offerings are on the left... if you mean on this thread...I LIKE THAT IDEA! ...now I just have to get home from work so Mr. Man with the whip doesn't catch me and my implementations

I don't know if you understood what I was trying to say, because it seems I didn't explain it good enough. Atleast I'm certain my idea had nothing to do with this thread. I was talking about the Birdie Board page @ liveGMC.com

Lookie here, I made a pic.

That's what I was thinking of and in my opinion it shouldn't be hard to make that automatic. Or is it?

Hahaha....I'm a dummy! That's actually probably something I though of way back in like Live 2004 but totttttttttttallly forgot to implement it. Good call there, Heiks! Yeh, that's a nice challenge...and it should be too difficult. I'll use your first information you gave and use that as my reference. Thanks for the challenge... hopefully you'll see that change within the next few weeks, as I got some other potatoes boiling in the pot! :o
