its just that teh PS2/one controllers are perfect for it and alot of ppl have them anyway, so paying 50 bucks for a controller that is similar to one u already own is stupid, which is why im gettin that adaptor

cuz there's one pricing HKD$70 i can get (about us$9) :new:

Its a good controller but its no good for NBA Live. Not enough buttons
It only has 8 buttons, you need a control with 10 or 12

Thrustmaster Dual Analog 3 (or the Dual Power 3 if you want Force Feedback). 12 buttons (2 on the underside of the controller), works very well for me.

I've got the Thrustmaster Dual Analog 2, it still works fine. I definitely recommend that line of controllers, especially if you have a PS2 since it's so similar (albeit a little bulkier).

I have the P2500 (same as P880 but with rumble). It has excellent build quality. There's just one problem - only 2 triggers (and 6 face buttons).

This makes it hard to do combos and such in games. So I'd recommend a controller that more closely matches the PS2 (with 4 triggers) - the thrustmaster firestorm perhaps. I've heard mostly bad things about logitech's dual action.

Sorry, I don't know anything about these controllers, The only game controller that I'm familiar with right now is the Xbox one.

I was thinking of getting the P2500, what do you mean by it having just 2 triggers? What are "triggers"?

Edit: Another question, I don't have a PS2, but I've heard lot's of people raving about how good the controllers are for Live. So I'm thinking of getting a PS2 controller instead, then one of those converters. Can I still use the PS2 controller for other games aside from Live? Will it work well for the most part?

The converters do allow the controllers to be used for other games.

I believe the "triggers" people are referring to are the L's and R's; you might also hear them called shoulder buttons.

You might want to check out the Super Joybox converters. The Super Joybox 5 Pro allows the connection of four PS or PS2 controllers.

Don't buy "illum FX", mine broke in 6 months.
The #3 Button broke, coz I set that button for "passing" and maybe I passed too much? but still it shouldn't break in 6 months even I play NBA like 4 games a day, right?

Well, guys, I do not care about the price but I want a good Control Pad that won't break in 6 months nomatter how much I use it.

Would that be Logitech or Thrustmaster?

I've played the Logitech one before (it is my friend's) and it is pretty good; although, about 2 months after he bought it, he came to me to complain that 1 button start to stuck (like when u push it, it wont come back up, gotta shake it).
Have that ever happen to anyone?

I'm playing with the Logitech Rumblepad 2. For me, the best Gamepad for PC.

Thrustmaster awesome

Postby JWL2672 on Tue Oct 04, 2005 11:33 am

Listen to the guys who recommend the Thrustmaster. You can get a rumble one for $15 at CompUSA and it has all the buttons needed. Tried the Logitech once. The analog sticks are small as hell plus they're impossible to calibrate. Nothing's more annoying than going into the game and having the dribbler go off in a southerly direction constantly. And this happened every time. (maybe I got a defective one? Don't know.)

All my cousins and my brother use the Thrustmaster so no one has an unfair advantage when we get together to have a showdown.
