X's Live '06 Dynasty - Knicks (Discussion Closed)

Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Postby The X on Wed Sep 21, 2005 6:48 pm

don't mind the double post, just shows that my thought process could be changing....I was thinking back to my Live '04 dynasty with the Nuggets, a young, up-and-coming team with potential....move forward to the Bobcats, that was kinda like an expansion team....maybe I should change to keep it fresh....Celtics are steeped in tradition, so they could be a nice team to use....Blazers intrigue me too....hmmm....keep the thoughts coming guys....

Clips are covered by Devin (ClipTalk or whatever the name was before)....I try not to follow other main dynasties to keep it interesting for everyone....although, then again I did follow cocobee to the Bobcats....support didn't really come until his ended

As The X's legal councilor, I would strongly suggest the following:

East: Washington Wizards. Arenas, Butler, Jamison and Daniels form a strong and exciting core, and you can always go out of your way and help in Jarvis Hayes' explosion into a quasi-star.

West: Utah Jazz. You've been itching to do them since last year, so go for it. And turn Deron into the next version of J-Kidd while you're at it.

But hey, if you don't like any of the proposed teams, you can always do the Warriors and guarantee yourself one avid ( or is it rabid...? ) dynasty fan for sure. (Y)

That's my job  .

Narh, the X should do any team in the NBA that he wants, but you should do the Trailblazers

nah, don't like their jerseys and don't fancy re-locating the team to Oklahoma City either....just don't appeal to me at all....

ahhh, it's always good to have good legal counsel available....it's not easy to find these days, that's for sure....

as for your suggestions, the Wizards are a pretty solid suggestion and I will definitely consider them....as for the Jazz, I used them in my Live '02 dynasty so I might give it a miss....something is missing from the team that makes me want to avoid it....

as for the Warriors, I'm sure the embedded code is a thing of the past so I'll leave this dynasty to you, and besides, I also did a Warriors dynasty back in Live '02....although I must admit I really do like the makeup of the team....Ike Diogu, Monta Ellis, Pietrus, Murphy, Richardson, Biedrins etc, etc....you're going to have a lot of fun with it I'd say :P

calm down Double D, the Jazz are all yours  Trailblazers are an option though

I might take a miss on the Sonics....they have something but not enough for long-lasting dynasty for me....

yep, that's another possibility although I'm hoping I see Dweaver and It's Adsf doing one rather me

haha, seems like every team outside of the Pistons, Heat and Lakers have been covered  I'm gonna try and finish my roster update (add Salim and a few of the other guys and try and transfer their cyberfaces from '05 to '06) and then be ready to roll....

Go with the Bobcats I say. Noone can do them like you. But if your sick of that, Wizards would be great to see.

It's a strong possibility that I will use my Warriors in the GOLD dynasty this year, but not a cartainty as of yet. You are free to start with them if you are inclined. Which, of course, you are. 8-) (Y)

any team thats in a huge salary hole (ie people getting paid way too much for what they do like Toronto (jalen rose and his huge ass contract) or New york with allan houston) or a bottom dweller team like the jazz, blazers, golden state (if your willing to compete with the likes of dweaver) or maybe phoenix (just wanna see how good you can play defense with them or see the game scores afterwards, wont be surprised if i see 3 straight games with scores of both teams scoring over 100)

Those are just suggestions, but of course i would prefer you to do a bobcats with the extremely well done one you did last year.(Y)

let's check out the votes....these are rough....

Atlanta 0.5
Boston 2.5
Charlotte 11
Cleveland 1
Dallas 0.5
Denver 0.5
Golden State 0.5
Indiana 0.5
LA Clippers 0.5
LA Lakers 0.5
New Orleans 1
New York 1
Philadelphia 2
Portland 2
Seattle 1
Toronto 2
Utah 1
Washington 1

seems like the consensus is Charlotte in a landslide....others that seemed to do alright that interest me are Boston, Portland and Toronto....don't feel like doing Boston nor Toronto....I might hold on Portland....

so that brings it down to 2 teams....you're probably wondering who the 2nd team is after the Charlotte Bobcats....well it's none other than the New York Knicks ( )....

a lot of you probably don't know, but I was (and still am) a huge John Wallace fan....I was a huge fan of the Knicks' '96 draft class (John Wallace, Walter McCarty and Dontae Jones - all went to Final Four in the '95 season)....Knicks have an '05 draft class that I really like (David Lee and Nate Robinson....forget Frye, I don't like him)....aside from the draft class, the team is overcapped and has a plethora of undersized PF's and C's who I hate....the one big man they had that I really liked is now gone (Kurt Thomas)....if I was to do this one, it would come with rules that I would have to abide by....firstly, I'd delete Allan Houston from the game due to retirement due to injury; I'd not allow myself to deal overpaid players to teams with cap space unless I heavily favour the other team (possibly with draft picks) and would come up with other "restraints" to keep realism at the forefront of the picture :P

still in the thought process, but could be a go-er....it's not a team I like, so could be good for a change....

I might implement a "no trade of Bumbury" for 1st season to provide additional torture....I'm a sucker for punishment as can be seen by my 'Cats dynasty

I'd watch a NY-dynasty in your regime, but would completely ignore a Charlotte-one. :)
