Here's a zip file of all the videos. It's 52mb.

The videos lookl pretty good. He is over-doing the passing, but it didn't look like it gave him too much of an advantage.

The gameplay looks exactly the same as 2005. Same animations, same everything. Looks like they focused solely on graphics this year - and even that doesn't seem to be much improved over 05.

same everything? i dont see the lame things that 2005 had. such as all the blocks on the perimeter... and fast breaks were in last years game? HA thats laughable!

Fri Aug 19, 2005 5:21 am

I don't get blocked on the perimiter in 2005. If you play the game properly that won't happen. Fast breaks work in 05, but I haven't seen a vid for 06 where fast breaks look any different.

To say that 06 looks drastically different from 05 based on the videos that have been released is just wrong.

Agree with ask1... I downloaded 2 of the video's and now I wish I hadn't. The movement of the players is absolutely abysmal, it's like they're pucks on an air hockey table or something. The retarded behind the head pass to Radmanovic who then dunked it over an entire frontcourt was stupid too but I'm hoping that's mostly just down to difficulty mode. That being said, difficulty modes or not the pass didn't look fluid with the gameplay at all. Awell, I'll still buy it.

Actually, to me that's good. I didn't want them to go over-board fixing things. That would turn the game into Live 2003.

I'm not saying they should turn the game into Live 2003. But there are plently of problems with the "feel" of 2005 that don't appear to be corrected based on the videos for 06.

What is disturbing is that the superstar freestyle thing seems to be EA's primary marketing point. Keeping your follow through after a shot, and behind the back passes may add to the polish of the game, but they don't add anything to the gameplay. These are just superficial changes.

We won't know for sure until we get our hands on the game. I just would have liked to have seen more gameplay and AI improvements at this point.

Well, at least the computer looked like that actually knew how to run the break, which was good (Y)

Why Does SHAWN MARION SHOOTS THE BALL NORMALLY AND NOT FROM DA BELLY?! SOMEBODY GOT AN ANSWER FOR ME???

MAN THIS GAME SUCKS.

Fri Aug 19, 2005 7:03 am

They probably didn't want to create a new shot animation for just one player.

Fri Aug 19, 2005 7:14 am

Well, I'm going to analize this from another perspective:

We all agree that this is Live 05 with some changes. Everybody here likes live 2005, more or less, but likes. We still will be able to patch this game. Well, so now I'm going to say what I think they improved for NBA Live 2005 vol 2:

- Better graphics with more smooth animations, even that sometimes players glide.
- They improved a lot of animations if you see well, every passes and animations of every player on the floor.
- Now fastbreaks exist, wich makes game WAAAAAY better than last year.
- Adding Freestyle superstar is not bad or may cause unrealistic play: what it does is that it lets you to choose who are the stars of your team, what are their roles, and you can personalize your unique gameplay.
- Playbook returns, that's amazing.

Things I didn't like:

- In all the videos I've seen , I think that will be a HUGE problem about dunks, if we don't edit dunkpacks the first day. I mean: Felton is a good dunker, but in NCAA I've only saw him doing normal dunks, and no jumping people; I don't remember Fortson dunking, and if he can dunk, I'm sure that he can't perform that type of dunks. I think we have to get back with this aspect of the game to Live 2004. But as we can change it, it's not a big problem.
- Again ballet-layups, doing spins in the air with slow players ( Radmanovic ) :|
- The shooters superstar moves, really... I don't get them useful, look at the video dedicated to them.

CONCLUSION: If we are playing live 2005 now, wont we like to play a lot better version ?

It's only my opinion.

Has any basketball game had Marion or Shaq shoot properly yet? No, so if that's your biggest problem with the game, then you just won't be playing any basketball games this year.

EDIT: Okay, I realized that if you read the article before, the guy specifically states that he's showing off the passing on the game, so never mind about the complaints on that.

Fri Aug 19, 2005 11:14 am

I really likes these videos.

* The Ray Allen leaner was awesome and smooth.

* The Up and under layup finally looks real.

I like how most of the moves seem pretty fluid. Also, really liked how you can see the replay only if you want to.

Does the superstar thing pop up as soon as someone recieves the ball? I think it did. Did anyone notice the Lewis did not have one. (I may be wrong) It's not right that Luke has one and Lewis does not. He should be a scorer or shooter.

I think the game will be fun to play.

Fgrep15, dude your right. If those fucks at IGN's wanted to show off just the passing why not use the Nets or something. Idiots!!!

Apparently it's due to memory limitations on the current generation of consoles. That would suggest that the next-gen consoles will mean we'll start seeing the in-depth detail like individual (or at least a few very distinct) shooting forms.
