Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Madden's also got a couple of editions on NBA Live. Again, it bothers me that people are so willing to insult members of the production team in a rather childish and sometimes ignorant way then complain that they never post here or get involved with our community the way other game developers do.
I'm not saying we have to kiss ass or not be critical, but as a community we have to demonstrate we want to hear what they have to say and that producers can post here without being childishly flamed or ripped to shreds.

This is basically the reason why the EA people on this forum won't give them selves in... I'm sure that there are some people working on the Live project in the community... I am yet to find out their identities, but revealing one to be an EA programmer or producer or what ever to do with the Live project is just asking for a flamethrower team to start shooting. The truth is that some of the community members don't really care about Live, but are more for some other games like the 2k-series etc. And would just flame an EA employee because they don't make the game as good as visual concepts... In their opinion ofcourse... EA and NBA Live are the games and companies of choice for me. Been buying NBA and NHL games for a long time now and don't plan on stopping anytime soon...
I know that EA has ears and eyes everywhere in the net... And why wouldn't they... They have a strong following on their games and they make the games for the fans so they should be listening to us for a good feedback loop.

Were you the guy who made a huge post basically begging for a job at EA?

I may be wrong, I don't remember.
Anyways, I think only idiots would flame any members of the Live team if they posted here. It's inevitable on any forum, on any subject from people who are dis-satisfied with the product but don't have the mental capacity to say it in a civil way.
I do think however, if anyone from EA was to post here they'd have to be willing to accept constructive critisism. I mean alot of us have been playing these games for a long long time and while some might be more satisfied then others, there's always going to be critisism of some form. Of course posts like "OMG EA U FUKIN SUK IM BUYING 2K3!" will come about, and of course they should be dealt with accordingly but there are some people (myself included) who would like some sort of explanation as to why some certain things that have been hugely demanded, but still ignored i.e ingame saves.

The problem is, not all criticism is constructive. I know the past is then and this is now, but history does tend to repeat itself and last time we had members of the production team in here, they were driven away with all kinds of negative comments that pretty much gave the impression a lot of people didn't care about or want to hear what they had to say.
Flames are sadly inevitable and we as mods would take care of any problematic situations, but the fact is, the production team are not paid to log into an unofficial fansite's forum and just cop abuse. It's not in their job description to have to do that, and a hostile environment isn't going to encourage them to come here.
Like I said, it needn't be an ass-kissing session because that's not going to benefit anyone but bombarding them with snide remarks and insults achieves nothing either and certainly doesn't suggest we're interested in having them around.

A closed forum which all cannot participate in??? Like only guys with 500 posts or something can participate, so the guys are regulars and been tested to act civil in the forums before...
That could ward off most of the flamers... Wouldn't it Andrew?
Anyway, I really could do some magic if I were recruited to design the game... I would bring some old stuff back and would bring something new and refreshing to the game and basically try to work at it as much as possible to get the best and most usable presentation of the UI yet... I've seen some great user interfaces, but the current NBA Live UI is just absolutely horrible... Especially that "My NBA Live" selection which takes 48 hours to load up, only to have you exit it immediatly.
They walk among us... There are EA people here, there just has to be. Hiring Tim back in the day was a very good decision as he is a fan and wants to get the best possible game there is to the market.
Come on Tim, show some love for the community you once started... We all could use a little love and information on the new Dynasty mode

I think Metsis is on to something... I don't think it's really right to limit it by post count, I mean certain guys have way over 500 posts *cough*sensation*cough* but if it was a forum basically limited to people who are actually going to offer something and not made available to the general forum public it would work really really well. That is of course, if the desire is there from anyone from EA to actually post here.
Fri Aug 05, 2005 3:27 am
Of course, I would be allowed into that forum. Right?
Fri Aug 05, 2005 3:29 am
Doubtful.

So you do work for EA...
What the hell is this "nikkolas" going on about... These guys shouldn't be allowed to talk to the EA guys. They just can't write anything that any one can make any sense out of...
Try to write in english... You probably have learned some of it at school, but you should probably get a dictionary to see how to write the words.
Mon Aug 08, 2005 8:32 pm
just to make it clear...Remove dynasty and improve the gameplay such as refs, coaching staff.....i want peace

You kidding. Dynasty Mode is the heart & soul of NBA Live. I believe that they will add more features in the next-gen consoles. So wait for Xbox 360 to come out.
Mon Aug 08, 2005 9:34 pm
Okay...choose between improvement of dynasty or improvement of the gameplay...analyz this, okay you have a perfect dynasty but the gameplay is too bad lyk thesame sliding etc etc and etc...Will you be satisfied???
Mon Aug 08, 2005 10:20 pm
There's no need to choose when you can improve both at once, or improve the gameplay while fixing up Dynasty Mode and expanding it once gameplay's at a point where it doesn't need much improvement. Dynasty Mode is already solid, major overhauls/additions could stand aside for gameplay without too many complaints.

Dawg. You said you wanted to remove the Dynasty Mode to improve the gameplay. What kind of logic is that? I rather they improve both of them instead of taking out the Dynasty Mode to fix the gameplay. Use common sense.
Tue Aug 09, 2005 4:50 pm
Well 4 me dynasty mode is useless..
Tue Aug 09, 2005 6:22 pm
I think it's safe to say if EA did remove it at this point, most people would stop buying it. It's not perfect but it's still the most popular game mode.
Tue Aug 09, 2005 7:35 pm
If you Nikkolas don't have any use for the Dynasty mode, you are missing about 70% of the game... The Dynasty is what keeps the game going and keeps bringing people back to play the game. The Dynasty is the heart and lungs of the beast. You take those out and you got nothing left selling for...
Too bad for you... And just for the record, if NBA Live had the "perfect" dynasty mode, but an unplayable gameplay, I'd probably still buy it and play it as a manager game instead of playing out all the moves. But would I play the game if it had the "perfect" gameplay and no dynasty mode, well probably yes, but I'd get bored of it in the end. You can never really have anything perfect.
I probably would enjoy more the management stuff than the actual gameplay... That's why I'd like to see more management stuff rather than better gameplay. The gameplay is good enough and with some minor tweaks it will be better, but I don't see what the big problem with the gameplay is. I find it most annoying when the AI starts to cheat on the Superstar difficulty level.
Tue Aug 09, 2005 8:15 pm
okay i respect ur opinion.the most impt 4 me is the improvement of the gameplay
