Sorry dude, that is hilarious.

It strikes me you guys are getting pretty fired up about this after having played the game for exactly 0 minutes. News flash: EA are not going to spend money marketing minor improvements like overall spacing, play sets crap like that, because that information does NOT sell games.

Important point: Although is says "Interview" it's actually just marketing.

Wait for the reviews, guys... couple weeks before the game's released, when people actually have a chance to sit down with the game for a few days.

A player like Lebron James could be a playmaker and a scorer, even a highflyer but they only allow you to choose one of them :( how sad BUT I BET YOU next year the biggest innovations would be allowing more than one offensive sets for a player. I bet you that's gonna be one of their newest feature for Live 07.

i think it's related to the control of the "Freestyle Superstar moves".

according to all the previews or the interviews, the only button to trigger the freestyle move is the "L1" button.

at this moment, it's not quite possible to assign another trigger button for another Superstar category.

but i would suggest them letting us to assign the "moves" as well.

let say there are 4 possible moves per each category.
if player A is a highflyer only, the 4 moves will all be the Highflyer moves.

if player B is a highflyer plus a playmaker, we can choose from all 8 moves and assign 4 to the buttons.

hope you understand what i mean.

btw, i don't think it will be implemented this year.

Just wait for the 2nd Part, its gonna be so whack when they tells "oh due to time constraint we didn't have time to implement/revamp such feature, maybe next year"

I hope that by passing the ball in the air they don't mean just passing off a jumpshot (but that will probably be the case).

Blocking from new angles? Players have been blocking from ALL angles already!

It doesn't sell games. It turns games into LEGENDS.

THe arguement that players should have 2 or more usable superstar freetyle attributes is very valid. Again until basketball games go to an more complex individualized attribute system it will be hard to make a true to life NBA game.

This is certainly a step forward but like most of EA's improvements it is a bandage over a wound instead of reconstructive surgery. I would be much more impressed if all these new animations were given to players based on a complex attribute system(similar to Inside Drives). THe differences in how players play could easily be changed by giving us the ability to control with sliders players tendencies. Then the differences between Tim Duncan and his face up game and Shaqs power back to the basket game would be noticable. TMAC's fadaways off the dribble versus the way Corey Maggettes attack the rim. Chauncy Billups the scoring point guard versus Steve Nash the traditional point guard.

A complex player tendency/attribute system would increase dynasty mode by leaps and bounds. When you fill out a roster no longer do you look for overall rating but you look into the player tendencies. Think about how a jump shooting team like Seattle struggled in mediocrity for so many years until it got Danny Fortson, Reggie Evans and Nick Collison to play interior defense and rebound. Those players would be rated low overall in any basketball game but their value on the team is tremendous because they hustle, rebound and protect the basket. Nowhere in NBA Lives rating system do they account for hustle and scrappy play or determination that seperates the Dwayne Wades from the Ron Mercers....or the Kobe Bryants from the Vince Carters. Also a new system would give value to guys like Adrian Griffin in Chicago, Trenton Hassell in Minnesota, Brian Cardinal in Memphis. Finding a diamond in the rough to fit your team would make dynasty mode so much more enjoyable.

Anyways I will get down from my soapbox and figure out a way to get the funds for an Xbox 360

are you able to change superstar category mid-game? cause then you could change per possession or whatever. or can you just set it before you go into the game and then thats it?

I guess I'm the only one who's really hyped for the freestyle superstar feature. I thought Live 2005 was really good except for the graphics, a few gameplay glitches, and the fact that it got boring quickly. But since they added freestyle superstar the game should be more exciting and the previous impressions I posted said they fixed some of the glitches/problems that I hated. So I'm really read for this Live, can't wait to get my hands on it.

:? The problem with last years game was there was already too much freestyle? Now you are happy there is more?

The problem is its easy to score 180pts a game, but the other team will score 179pts too, since there is no defence at all.

yes I agreed! I believe player tendencies if incorporated correctly and efficiently could take the Live series into another level not seem/experienced by others.

For example some PG's in Live 05 shoots the ball too much and if had tendencies available in the game for each player we would set his tendecy for passing the balls, etc etc

We have Wishlists every year to address complaints and improvements, though I do believe that next years big feature will be the ability to assign more than one Freestyle Superstar ability to Superstar players.

God I hope your wrong. Their "big" improvment will be the ability to have more than one freestyle ability to stars? Hradly worth buying if thats the case.

I don't know what sliders you were playing on, but I've never had a game where me or the computer scored 180.
