Not only that, but this Superstar mode seems like the coolest thing a sports video game has ever done.

here's wut i think....madden's made by a production team in the U.S nd the NBA live series is made by an EA production team in canada. Not that the difference in the game is the cause of Candians or neything, but the production team there juss cant catch up with the production team here in the U.S. It will probably take atleast another year fo them to hav something like this in the game. i know lots of ppl r saying they hold things back on purpose so next year's could be dat much better nd in many ways its true, but take madden fo example; they hav surprising features every year unlike Live where we have pritty much the same games fo couple years(excluding the graphics ofcourse).

oh yea...by the way in addition to bangyounh's post nba live will NEVER surpass Madden in sales no matter how much better live becomes.Y? simply cuz there's more football fans out there than basketball fans; nd i know u guys hav to agree on me on that one, even statistics show it.

Totally false my friend.....in America there are far more football fans than basketball but worldwide an NBA game would vastly outsell an NFL game. EA for some reason has not got into these markets as well as they should have. You can ask even some of the Aussies on here about the trouble of getting Live for the PC.

goos thing is this is not required to play the game. i know you can just play a franchise without actually useing owner mode. i assume they wont force people to use these new things either.

Looks like the guy was kinda mixed in terms of race  His mom looks to be white and his dad looked mexican or something  Well that feature is great and Madden always comes out with great features that makes the game hardly ever get boring which is why I get it every year just like I do Live. When they mentioned that NBA Live was the best at E3, Madden must didn't show them their new modes that they had in their game.

Sounds like a cool new aspect, but I want to see the current Dynasty Mode get a lot better before they branch into this area. Developing a new feature like that would take time, which could be better spent fulfilling the potential of the current Dynasty Mode for the time being. When it gets to a point where not much can be done to improve the existing modes, it's time for something more "revolutionary", such as this Madden feature.

yes, i agree! and the first order of business in that dynasty mode stuff should be to stop having those superstar players resign with their teams without getting a chance to bid for their services....

i don't really like the fact that once you finish your season you get this e mail telling you that gasol, allen and other guys resigned with their teams....if i build up the cap room and/or i'm using the poor, lowly bobcats i should at least get a crack at those superstars....

BiGrEd819 I dig what you're saying about Madden's popularity, and I'm not sure if you're talking about just the USA, but that is an absurd comment to make! NFL more popular than NBA/basketball, HAHA! You're kidding, basketball is the 2nd most played sport (behind that 'cool' sport where you kick a bit of nylon towards a guy blocking a net, VERY ENTERTAINING!!! ) in the world dude. Madden would sell more in the US, not so sure about worldwide. I could be wrong, but the NFL is not more popular than basketball.

EA will realise at some point that they could basically market their entire NBA Live game on the dynasty mode alone. That's pretty much what Madden does. I mean I don't know anything about American football, yet I still paid $100 for the game because the Dynasty mode was said to be so deep. From what I hear the gameplay isn't perfect, but it's at a point where people feel it's "good enough" for them to spend their time on other things. Things like Superstar Freestyle seem like nice idea's, but why does it have to be the big main addition? It's not exactly going to revolutionise basketball games, I don't really think something that comes under the category "cool new feature" should be the big selling point for the entire game. Also seems to be the only real noticeable gameplay improvement.

As far as other basketball games outselling NBA Live... I'm really not sure if it will happen, but to be honest it probably should. We'll see what happens, like Andrew I'd want to see them sort out Dynasty mode first... I know alot of people say they can't do many great big improvements to Dynasty mode because they have to concentrate on the gameplay, but I don't really see what's stopping them designating a group specifically to work on dynasty mode while the rest of them sort out the gameplay, or alternatively add new features no one wanted.

Awell, between Live 06, NBA 06, NBA 2K6 and Madden 06 I'm going to be flat broke for a few months.

That's $100 AUS, which is like $70 US... admittedly I paid $100 for Madden like 5 days before it went on sale for $50. Bastards.

i fully agree with you on this. i want to see the nba aspect of the dynasty mode get so deep its basicly realistic before they branch off into new things like this.

The very first EA game I ever purchased was Nba Live 2000 just because they had Michael Jordan Back! then it went all downhill from then on and that's when I discovered Madden 2003, got it and loved it from the very first moment! and that's when I started watching the NFL more and more to gain more knowledge and be better at the game. Right now, basketball is still my favorite sport and I would say Football is right behind it.

Madden games always rock. They put in so much stuff and change it around each year, but it just gets better.

I'm 110% sure that ill be getting Madden 2006 but not so sure about Live 2006. I will probably get Live 06 after 6 or 7 months when the price is drop down to like $20 because I'm not paying #40 for a sub-par product.

I don't think NBA LIVE 06 is going to be a SUB PAR product bro until we see all the improvements and FINAL product of the game..

Let's preserve our judgements until we have seen the whole picture.

Is there anyone here thinks that in the gameplay aspect, basketball is far harder to create realistically rather than american football?

I'd agree it's difficult, with all the time related rules, the average scores and keeping all the statistics realistic. I don't know about it being more difficult to capture electronically than gridiron, but there's only so much realism a simulation can achieve. That's not to say there isn't room for improvement and potential to grow, just that there are certain limitations.

Wow, don't really know that much about Football, the american version, but have been intrigued by the better dynasty mode so often mentioned here... Been teetering on the edge wheter to buy it or not, but this create a player and do his career stuff really puts it over the edge...

I might just buy Madden 06... It looks intresting to take a small peek at what Live might possibly get one day in the future...

This player career mode in general is always a tough one... If you are a super-star, then it's easy to do... Everyone just throws money at you and wants you, but what about the times when you are not T-Mac or Shaq or LeBron, but are a simple role player that plays limited minutes in a game and has limited intrest in him in the league... Or worse, what if you are cut from a roster etc. What do you do then? With what does the schedule fill up with then??? That's the real problem... I will probably buy Madden 06 and see how they've solved the problem. Maybe they have done enough to fill in the time when you are not the big star player on your team...

All this career mode stuff boils down to choice... You should have choice on matters enough so that the player actually feels like he is in control of the players actions and just a bystander who looks at one guys career more closely...
