Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

From a patching/customisation perspective, having a female player model would be handy when it comes to special rosters. Those patches haven't been nearly as popular as they were in the early days of the NBA Live series. Back in the days of NBA Live 95, you were more willing to accept the fact Kelly Bundy had short hair and a man's body, it didn't take away from the novelty of that "Silly Rosters" patch.

LOL, novelty rosters were great for about 5 games. Loved those superhero teams. I remembe back in Live 2003 you could make a guy at 0feet, when he had the ball on court, it just looked the like ball was rolling along the ground.

True, they were only fun for exhibition games. I suppose with all the work that would go into cyberfaces and such these days, it would be a lot of effort for little interest.

Patching is other words for modifying the game. Various members of the community specialise in "patching" the game. I'll give you some examples.

Say Kobe Bryant went from his clean shaved head look, back to the Afro. One of our resident patchers could decide to update the look of Bryant. They would do so with various programs & then we'd download the Bryant Afro patch & place the files in the correct folders & in the game, the clean shaven Bryant would be replaced with one who has an afro. That's called player patching.

Then there is roster patching, Andrew specialises in that. You edit values of the database files that come with the NBA Live rosters. With this you can change ratings, head bands, team colors (for head bands etc), height, weight etc.

By doing a global patch of the rosters, you can modify the gameplay, you should check out our patching sections. Both the rosters & regular patches.

A little reminder, patches are only good for the PC versions of Live.

Why make it so complicated? How about a simple "see NBA Live 2005 announcements forum". :D

Also, you can patch shoes, courts and jerseys. Say if the new Tmacs aren't in the game, then a patcher would make the shoes and you would have to put them in your game and same thing for courts and jerseys.

Finally, if you would like to experience playing with NBA guys, you could patch your own cyberface, shoes, clothes into the game and then you could play with yourself in the game (that didn't come out right, damn.. there it goes again). So yea, basically patching is customising NBA Live to our liking through editing graphics and ratings of the game.

I don't think its that good of an idea to put a WNBA team in the game. If they do, they have to put in more than one because believe me a WNBA team playing against the Hawks would get MURDERED.
