Must be another game, that's never been a feature in NBA Live.

You mean the NBA Finals logo that's displayed on the jerseys during the Finals? Yeah, that would be a nice touch.

If you're talking about including certain shoes, there's generally two issues:

1. Whether or not the player is wearing the shoes at the time the game was released
2. Whether or not EA Sports has the licensing rights to include the shoes in question

At least that's my understanding of the situation.

Would it be too much for the makers of Live to split the dunk rating into two separate categories? i.e. one rating for frequency and one rating for dunk complexity.

I think this would help because some players dunk often but only have a couple of dunks in their repertoire, where some others rarely get to the rack but can throw it down nicer.

They've basically done that with the Dunking rating and the DUNKPACK attribute.

Speakin' of dunking, have you seen the latest NBA LIVE 06 vid. They have one of Williams, Felton and Bogut in seperate videos. When you watch it, it has Bogut flying like he is Vince Carter and it has Felton doing windmills like Lebron. This game looks to Street-stylish. Not that i mind but it has to be more realestic.

Bogut dunk like Carter, this is too realistic to be true. I mean only big man like Amare can dunk like Carter. As for Bogut, I would not believe he can dunk like Carter.

The Dunking rating determines the frequency of performing and likelihood of making a dunk. Players also have a hidden attribute (labelled in players.dbf as DUNKPACK) that determines the types of dunks they can perform.

I know this has been brought up before... but has the live series ever had an awesome players introduction?

I cant remember... i think the best has been just calling the names of the home team right?

NBA Live 2004 and NBA Live 2005 probably have the best pre-game introductions, closely followed by NBA Live 2000 and NBA Live 2001.

I really wanna see actual introductions like ones we see in real life... or a pregame preview or something.. but maybe its asking for too much!

Sega Sports released a game back in 1997 called NBA Action 98 that had full player introductions for both teams, with the home team getting a much more enthusiastic introduction. At least the demo had that feature, I never played the full version.

I have played all LIVE but 2004 and 2005. I was just wondering why EA won't make the introduction of the starting lineup as realistics as the real one in the NBA. The Arena announcer should introduce the starting 5 players with their position, height, college, name. This will make it more enjoyable to watch.

I don't think it's a matter of not wanting to, rather it's a case of focusing on other areas. Memory/hardware limitations might also be a factor.

Yeah, the novelty would wear off after a while too but it would be impressive and adds to the gaming experience, especially if the NBA Playoffs intros were even more enthusiastic!
