what roster should i use
Fri May 26, 2006 12:44 pm
Hello,
I'm new to this so can someone explain what is this mod? For what is it used? What's the point? What does it do?

It changes the layups, dunks, and shots that players perform, both regular and freestyle superstar players. Gameplay itself is changed for enhancing the experience.

don't wait man, you'll never know the progress if you don't try the one out now. BECAUSE this MAYBE the final version.

I have just played with Wade and Kobe,
and I recognise that the FSS+DUCK AND JUMP botton are the same move, which is a bit useless and a wate of move capacity
other moves for Wade are good but Kobe doesnt have his trademark back-breaking fadeaway shot?
Anyway, I really appreciate your great work, and I am going on to try Lebron Vince Tmacand Amare as u write in the dunkpack thing.

true alright but i dont want my roster to be fudged up so does this work with andrews most recent roster update.

Yeah, it will work with any roster (and affects all of your saves), but if you don't change the dunkpacks, the dunks/lay-ups will be off. Just use the .bat I posted to fix the dunkpacks.

Alright... So after reading through this entire thread, I've become a little confused. So can someone kindly respond to some questions I have?
First off... I understand that many things had to be edited. But what exactly does the aiact contain? Isn't there a way to just edit that file alone and exclude the players.dbf?
It'd be nice to just install one file and have realistic moves, rather than have so to replace so much.
Isn't editing the aiact ALREADY editing the way each dunkpack works? Why does each dunkpack need to be changed in order for the mod to take effect?
And second... How do you edit the aiact? Perhaps we can turn this into a concerted effort for the benefit of us all. You can even call this NBA Live 06-2
Mon Jun 05, 2006 6:20 am
Editing the aiact changes the gameplay. It adjusts layups/dunks, Superstar features, and what each dunkpack contains. Lilvc has changed what each dunkpack does and has changed the numbers, so if you don't update them, you could have Zaza Pachulia doing Vince Carter-type dunks. You only need to edit the dunkpacks in the players.dbf, nothing more, and if you're using any roster based on Andrew's, then you can run the .bat I posted to update the dunkpacks.
EDIT: I forgot to say that any effort on your part is totally worth it. This mod completely changes the gameplay to something way, way better than EA can ever hope to have.

Gotcha.
So that brings me to another question... What exactly would we have to edit? I mean is lilvc doing a total revamp of each move?
I figured he was making simple changes. Instead of a my big man always going up for a dunk when he's in the post, I always wanted to see that nice two handed layup. Would that kind of change require "JUST" editing the aiact?
If not, then I'm assuming this isn't as simple as it seems.
Mon Jun 05, 2006 6:37 am
Well, yes and no. He could have just edited the aiact and added that move to the big-man dunkpack, but he's also given star players (Carter, Mcgrady, Bryant, Shaq) special dunkpacks to reflect their unique playing style, so he's had to adjust the dunkpacks.
No, it wasn't as easy as it seems, it took a lot of work on his part. All you need to do is download the aiact and the .bat, put the aiact in the ai/act folder, and run the .bat.
Mon Jun 05, 2006 6:44 am
Gotcha. And one final question. If two players wanted to play online that share the same aiact, could they do it?
Mon Jun 05, 2006 6:51 am
That's one I don't know the answer too. My guess is yes, but I don't know for sure.
Anyone here tried it?

The jumpshooting needs some work, too many one handed three pointers, and off balance one leg in the air attempts.

Don't Hold The Superstar Button and you'll be alright
Mon Jun 05, 2006 8:18 am
How do you edit the aiact anyway?
Are there any ways to delete and add moves that aren't seen in the game? I figured that to edit a big man's moves, you'd simply switch the moves that correspond with the moves in the dunkpack. That way, the dunkpacks wouldn't have to be touched would they?
There must be some kind of alternative here. Because what if you edit stats or change a FSS? I mean, obviously the database will be reconfigured. I just don't understand why that is made a problem.

I noticed this when watching CPU vs CPU.
