Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

Postby Lucas on Sat Jan 19, 2008 1:57 am

wassup guys...

i think what you're doing is awesome, i've tried some of the things you've post here and i must say that i'm really pleased with my new nba 06 ;)...
as about the dinasty problem.. i read somewhere that some of the problems with the dinasty might be solved by replacing the birthstate and birthtown files with their original ones...i'll try it when i finish the first season with my hornets dynasty...

P.S: sorry for any english mistakes, i'm argentinian :)

EDIT: would portraits from 08 work on 06? and if it doesn't, do you know where i can find a decent portrait add-on? thnks :)

mark if you wanna start on another roster you are more than welcome to. we do have andrew's permission so if you wanted to start messing around with that go right ahead.

lukas, I dont think i touched the birthstate/birthtown files so maybe that could cause the crashing.

As for portraits, i dont know if they work from 08, the only way to find out is to try.

okay, thnks for the help jao...recently i've seen in one of your post (http://www.nbaliveforums.com/ftopic42823.php..sorry, don't know how to link them) in wich you said that lagoa's court patch worked perfectly on 06 but it doesn't for me (i only have installed your patch and the tnt mod wich changes the looks and the music of the game). the match loads great but at the very beginning it crashes (when you see the players warming up) any ideas? if you don't, thnks anyway :)

there's a ball (i think that is the ball used in all the other leagues in the world except the nba) and i think it gives the game more reality because you can actually see the ball spinning in the air and bounce in the basket wich is really great, i'll upload it if you want but i repeat IT'S NOT THE NBA BALL :)

EDIT: Problem solved thnks :)

Which folder's birthstate and birthtown.dbf's do you replace and where do you find the originals from? Im guessing you replace the birthstate and birthtown in your dynasty folder with the birthstate and birth town in the originaldb folder?

you've guessed right :) but i've already tried it and it doesn't work :( try replacing the scheduleoffseason that might be causing the problem cause that's exactly when the game crashes (during offseason)

Mark I used Open Office, its an alternative to Microsoft office. In it I used "Calc" which can edit the dbf's without corrupting them like Excel can.

I'd just go with the last released roster from andrew....or even just use someone elses roster that was made for 06 if we can.

i never had time to finish this really, after the start up pack i was hoping others would realize the potential and start making stuff for it as well. That didn't happen.

That roster by ReMix does not work in dynasty mode either and that's why the maker just abandoned it.

oh man.......thats too bad. can't you just do the aiact.files? cause those will change the game a great deal.
some changes in the :
collisions
dunks and lay ups
blocks from underneath the rim

i tried to edit some of the aiact.........i think i changed it succesfully.

i came accross one problem. I randomly took 2 dunks which were superstar trigger dunks and i pasted them on the regular dunks.
I practiced with james posey.......with th reset rosters. he has dunk 80 rating. he did a far Power dunk that resembles the MJ or Kobe dunk with one hand everytime i took off from 45 degrees to straight from the FT-line. The problem was that he did that dunk EVERY time. occasionally he did the 2 legs 2 hand dunk, but only way he would not do that dunk was if i went closer to the rim.

I'm just getting started with this and there are way too many codes to figure out at the moment.

how do i change dunk packages and how do i change the frequency of the dunks and how do i determine from where they do the dunks and lay ups. Like i want them to stop dunking from close.

you really should look at this

http://www.nbaliveforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=52568

Sportsgamer, i've already replied to a couple of your topics about this....you cant edit animations themselves, you can only take animations from other games and put them into another version of live.

the funny thing is that i extracted the dunks from live 06 and i edited them in MS word, then i just saved it as .ACT and i placed it in live 06 AI.

I edited it all in word. is that weird or what?

are collisions and shots in there?

i can't seem to be able to put dunks from live 2004 in live 06. How do i do this?
