Globetrotters - C'mon Dahl, we're waiting!

W00t! I solved my problem with a little help from the .org guys. All I have left to do is to add Wilt. I can't seem to find any good portrait pics for the retro team, and therefore no c-face pics either, so you guys will have to deal with the retro guys being created players, with the exception of Wilt. Look for a release within the next couple of days.

Where have I left this ... okay, I'm basically done, except for Dahl's court. I still have a problem with editing the players; has anyone run into a problem where the game crashed when you try to edit a player? It works for one team, but not the other. If anyone knows how to solve this, could you tell me?

Should I release a beta version of this for you guys to test, or should I wait until I've ironed out all the bugs?

I think you could release a Beta Version for us to test.

Then we could write our comments on your beta version.
This would make you able to improove your patch.

So pls release a beta version! I want to play!

Okay. Here it is. Put the Globetrotters folder in the saves folder; the other folder is self-explanatory.

Known issues:
- game will crash if you try to edit any of the Recent players

Other stuff:
- court is not included, but will be in next version
- Retro players do not/probably will not have cyberfaces or portraits (except Wilt)
- some Recent players don't have cyberfaces
- Frank Washington is on the FA, you can put him on the Trotters via .dbf editing

It would be appreciated if you guys gave me feedback, any kind is welcome. I like the patch very much.
Though i've only played two games I realised some problems:

1. Player's shoes are pink!
2. Both teams named International Allstars
if Ball out of bounds or
player's foul

With your Issues you're right: court is not included but you can choose from the other NBA courts.

If you should be able to solve all these little problems this is gonna be the best patch I've ever seen!

1. Shoes, eh? It's probably because I have Seraph's patches installed ... try replacing the shoeacc.dbf in the Globetrotters save with one from one of your other saves; or you could download Seraph's patches.

2. Not much I can do about that, you'll just have to live with it.

I'm having a few problems with it to. First the Trotters 2005-2006 jerseys don't work plus it says International All-stars when the ball goes out of bounds.

Yeah, the International All-Stars problem can't be fixed. It comes from making a custom team based on them. If I were to base the team on any other team, say the Euro All-Stars, then it would say 'Euro All-Stars'.

The jersey; is it the preview? I forgot to say that, the Recent away jersey preview doesn't work, but you can play with that jersey.

Something's wrong with the players.dbf and also with the appearance.dbf files, i think. Anyway this is just beta. You can check this out.

Any news on this matter? How's it going lately?

I think this will be the only release, there's nothing I've been able to fix. What do you mean something is wrong? Can you be specific?

sri for d late reply: it's just a simple problem tho, a player tht goes by th name of edgerson(?) is not on the players.dbf and one player's port(can't rmmber name) is misspelled= but i've fixed it(for my own) alrdy.
the big problem in the patch are the jerseys coz most of the time it crashed my game after the loading time when i'm going to play 'Play Now'.

I think this will be the only release, there's nothing I've been able to fix.

That's weird, cause it happened to me, but I was certain I'd fixed it.

Which portrait is it? And can you see the jersey previews? It may be crashing because you didn't put the files in the right places ... I think I know what it is. Are you trying to play in the Globetrotters' court? There is no Harlem court right now (Andreas is making one), you have to play on a different court.

about the portrait, i still can't remember who that player was coz i haven't been playin' live since the 'Trotter patch download. i'll still have to get back home to check it (why don't you check it for yourself then? )
oh yea i can see all jersey previews.

Well I cant see the Jersey Previews of the Current Globetrotters Jerseys and when I choose one of these two game crashes.

I've also realized some other things:

1. shoes are wrong: all Globetrotters have the same red and white PONY shoes as you can see on their official homepage.

2. some graphics bugs e.g. Matt Jacksons headband isn't really a headband: there are only two stripes on every side of his head.

3.a) some roster mistakes: O'Bryant and Philipps aren't playing for Globetrotters anymore. In my opinion some other important players are missing: Edgerson, Turner, Daley, ...
In the official Legends Team Ausbie, Hawkins, Karstens, Kellogg, Kline, Price, Vaughn and Woodard are missing.

b) In the Legends Roster there is two times the 10th position, two times the IR 2nd position but no 11th and only four starting five players are shown. In the Current Globetrotters Roster there si no 10th position.

4. You must have installed more than one patch:
shoe patch-> my shoes were all pink but I installed Seraphs shoe patch now everything works.
legends patch-> you must have installeda legends patch and some cyberface updates because when I play against 90s Allstars all players have pink heads.

Either:
I think it would be better if you backup your savegames and your sgsm folder, reinstall game and release your MOD a second time so that everyone can rally play it
Or:
You post here what patches ypou installed so that we can also download and install them.

I (and some other gamers too) would be very thankful if you could maybe fix sth.

I didn't do the rosters, Bassman58 sent them to me. Jackson's headband is just a matter of finding another headband.ebo, which I can do. Again, I didn't do the rosters, although I do have Edgarson included; he keeps disappearing for some reason. The roster positions are easy to fix, but I thought I'd done that too.

As for patches, I have Seraph's shoe patches, and Andrew's roster (which updates the legends teams), but that's all that would affect this.

I forgot to add Edgarson, so that's fixed now. I also gave them similar shoes, but you'll need Seraph's patches for them (I don't think there's anyone who doesn't have Seraph's patches anyway). As soon as I get the court from Andreas, I'll release the final version.

So Edgerson will be in the next release version. Great!

But what about the others: Turner and Daley. I've seen the Globetrotters show here in Germany and bought their programm magazine. Daley is on the cover. He's the new Star-Entertainer.
You could maybe do them (and the missing Legends I already posted above) and drop them into FreeAgents list as you did with Washington.

Another thing I am missing are the Nationals (the team which is on tour with the Trotters). You could add them e.g. for RBK Team (Nobody needs this team!).

But I think to fix the problems is more important:
- I cant see and play with 05/06 Jerseys (Home and Away!)
Game crashes if I choose one of them though I am not playing on Globetrotters Court.

- The edit-problem: I think in eveyone's game it crashes when trying to
edit a Globetrotters player but not when editing any other player from the NBA.

I don't know what the jersey problem is, they work fine for me (as a jersey patcher mainly, I'm sure the jerseys are okay ). The edit player problem seems to be un-fixable, but you can edit the players via the .dbf files if you need to. I suggest you wait until I release the final version, then see if you still have problems.

Hey cable I Think I solved the edit player crash with the jerseys.

edit player used to crash for me until I added the default 06 current jerseys.

In the dbf I made the retro jereys 0 for home and 1 for away

for the 06 default home/away jerseys I put 3 for the home and 4 for the away

So if the team overwrites the intl allstars you might have to put those jerseys in.
