NBA Live 06 Xbox360 - No Franchise Mode

Though it's unfortunate that EA has had to leave out a full franchise mode for the first incarnation of Live on the next-gen systems, the other tweaks to the game's on-court camera, the slick menu system, the visuals of course and whatever else we haven't seen yet looks like a nice first step. We're hoping that EA has set itself up for the future in a way that we can't fathom yet, and that the Live series will continue to evolve into something that really meets the definition of next-generation.

What the fuck are these people smoking?

Sounds like crap, but I guess season is sufficient if gameplay is as amazing as it seems; at least till the next version comes out anyway. But I would've even been satisfied with the regular 06 dynasty mode.

By the way, nice find, I'll post it on the main page (y)

Are you kidding? Are they kidding? They can't even put in a simple franchise mode like live 02 had on Xbox? How Arcadish can the game get?
I was going to save for 360, but if there is no franchsie... forget it!

Unless, of course, playing online is truly unbelievable.

I'm still getting it, but atleast I'll be getting it at the end of November so I'll only have to wait 10 months until the new live comes out.

OMG!!! Those screens are rediculous!

I hate the fact that franchise mode isn't there though.

Please tell me I'm not reading this correctly. But it sounds like from that article that there will be no Superstar playmaker control thing either.

So what is this game? Just NBA basketball 06?

For me, this whole year has been ridiculous for EA.

EA is a giant, yet the didn't allocate proper resources to develope good games? There is no excuse for this.

2k sports is much smaller, yet they did a good job on their titles.

It's a shame for EA. I have always respected this software house. But this year I must be honest, they sucked.

Some serious changes are need in there. something must have happened.

No franchise mode on next gen. Live? EMBARASSING. How can they even think they are gonna sell a copy? with 2k6 on 360 looking awesome. No way!

It looks like EA is putting a lot more work in Madden 06 for next-gen then they are for Live. You'd think it would be the other way around since Madden is the only NFL game but Live has competition from 2k6.

Well Madden won't have a dynasty either...
I'm guessing that this is something that'll take them quite some time to make. It's not like they can just use the same one as previous years as they've done for the regular consoles; But they need to completely remake the whole thing.

you guys are incredible, always defending EA no matter what.

To put this simply: if others are able to include a franchise mode and EA cannot, doesn't that mean others are better than EA?

There is no point in finding excuses. We are not asking for the moon....we are asking somthing that others are able to do.

It was hard to excuse EA for not improving Live 06 that much because they had to focus on next gen. But I would have done it if EA came up with a solid Live for next gen. But if the final result is a game lacking a franchise mode, well...there is no more excuse even for Live 06 lack of innovation.

They simply weren't able to do anything this year. period.

Madden isn't going to have dynasty either? I haven't heard anything about that in any of the articles I have read.

Well, ofcourse. This just means that next year they'll have a selling point by the name of Dynasty Mode  Another "new" feature that should have been in a basketball game regardless.

Well it's what I read on the IGN forum...

Edit: The guy was wrong, there is still franchise. Sorry if I made you worried
In terms of Franchise play, there is no Owner mode in the game, but you can still take your favorite team on a 30 year journey to greatness, including breaking records and changing the official record books to inducting your players into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

I am curious......LIVE's fans say they don't consider other games becasue they are all about graphic, and they dont care about graphic as long as gamplay and dynasty mode are cool.

Now, how can they buy LIVE 06 for next gen, when it only graphic and doesn't even have a dynasty mode?

Sales to this forum should be ZERO. ZERO.

Gameplay? Either way, it's not like it's exactly like 06 but with new graphics... The fact that they don't seem to have the Freestyle Superstars kinda sucks though, but hopefully the gameplay changes will be substantial enought to be considered 'next-gen'.

I wasn't planning on getting a X360 or PS3 any time soon, so they'll have to bring out something special for me to change my mind (Where's the gameplay vids?)...

I heard there is no freestyle superstar or allstar weekend.

I got this from the link above:

If they can focus on gameplay and camera angles for this firts next-gen version... it's ok, then they can do like they're doing since Live 2003, but with a better base (Y)
