NLSC Roster Update v0.1 Beta

Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

I downloaded the roster, and I noticed one small bug. I was doing a dynasty with the Boston Celtics, using fantasy draft. After 1 or 2 seasons, I decided to do some trades, and when I saw Shawn Marion, he had a 0$ Salary.

Other than that, I haven't noticed anything, besides that the generated rookies never put up more than 5ppg (but I don't know if this has anything to do with your update)

Not much to say. I've just finished new updates for 08 and 07 and have applied the latest changes to the 06 roster, so now I'll go back to resolving the reported issues and compiling art for the complete release.

I'll check it out but I'm pretty sure the first issue is a bug that will occur from time to time. I've doublechecked and he definitely has a valid salary in the rosters. That's strange about generated rookies but I'll see if there's anything I can do.

I know that ratings are not our priority right now but I thought I post something about ratings that needs tweaking. One thing I noticed is Rafer Alston's dunk rating and dunpack. I'll keep on checking for other improvements we can make in the roster.

About the issue on the salary Andrew, I continued my dynasty today, and I have found some more players that have this problem. However, it does not seem to come from the roster directly, as the problem occurs only when the players re-sign contracts during the dynasty. I'll have to take a look to see if it happens only in fantasy drafts.

BTW, I have completely reinstalled 06, so your roster is the only patch installed.

Yeah, that salary issue happens with the original live 06 rosters too. I believe it can be solved because by the end of season 4-5 McGrady always signs for $0.

I'd say there'll be a few dunk packages that need fixing. Let me know if you come across anyone else.

Well... Beasley just got slammed by Brooks, bad news... Looks like a lot of point guards out there are in need of fixing. Erchamion posted that Steve Nash does the same thing. I've tried Kidd, and CP3 seems normal. I'm sorry if I can't go through this thoroughly, but I'll try to update this post as I see more bugs. By the way Andrew, how's the search for the culprit of that black crowd going?

Andrew I think I've narrowed down our problem in the roster patch, I've used DBCommander for this and used this query ( POSITION = '4' AND DUNKPACK = '2'). Now, according to our NBA 06 http://nbalive06.nba-live.com/index.php?go=dunkpack Dunk Pack Values '2' is (2: Limited range of one and two handed dunks) which is commonly used by centers. Now looking at the 2 value in

Live 07 and Live 08 (Same Values)
(2: Power Layup
Basic Layup 7
Basic Layup 5
Fingerroll
Leaning Layup
Pump Layup 1 )

So I guess when you converted the original 08 Patch to 07 it doesn't show any signs of this bug we're getting in 06 because 08 and 07 uses the same dunkpack wherein 06 is different. I hope I helped. Thanks again for your efforts Andrew and I'll help in any way I can! As for the black crowd, I'm still on the lookout for what may cause it.

This is Brevin Knight with '2' on his dunkpack, he uses the dunk act but for some reasons he can't reach the hoop to complete the dunk (his dunkability is '1') maybe that's why.

That's definitely the issue. The good news is, it's easily fixed (and I'll do so before the proper version is released). Thanks again for the heads up on that. :)

Nothing new to report on the black crowd issue as yet. As soon as I have anything more to report, you can be sure I'll post it.

The inverse problem should also be checked: Players that should be able to dunk not dunking.

Andrew i found the problem and fixed it. The problem is that all crowd settings in teams.dbf are set to 0:

CRWDSPAN:0
CRWDCOLAR:0
CRWDCOLAG: 0
CRWDCOLAB: 0
CRWDCOLBR: 0
CRWDCOLBG: 0
CRWDCOLBB: 0

If you change this with the same numbers as in your old NSLC roster the problem is fixed:

For example Atlanta:

CRWDSPAN:10000
CRWDCOLAR:850
CRWDCOLAG:800
CRWDCOLAB:850
CRWDCOLBR:400
CRWDCOLBG:350
CRWDCOLBB:400

Good luck! Looking forward to your new roster.

Erchamion you are God sent, looks like we are getting near the release for this patch.

Andrew will convert the whole NBA 06 Dunkpack to its right values which he initially used dunkpack values from NBA 08 which resulted in a mismatch. After that I believe that it will solve all dunkpack issues.

i have tried it in each superstar type except for playmakers and shooters,, when i try using superstar moves, there is only one move or no move at all,, this is when i use the roster patch, but when i reset the roster to default. i can use every move shown in this thread http://forums.nba-live.com/viewtopic.php?t=28869... i played it in an individual practice game mode...

Hi Andrew, asks if she is possible to eliminate the pinks torch so that to have faces custom for the time being. I have tried changing the parameters on appeareance.dbf and players.dbf but when I change a player they change me all the others equally. Example: imposed OJ Mayo on dark-black and Haddadi on brown but they become every time equal I change one of it.. thanks

Erchamion thanks, it worked for me black crowd gone and 2006 Fans check this out but maybe I'm slow I have NBA Live 2008 for the pc also so what I did was download the new 2006 roster that Andrew made took the files out of the 2008 sgsm folder, NOT!!! the the folders itself like allstar, crowd, uniforms, etc and placed it in the 2006 sgsm and now I have the rookies and missing players with faces that Andrew use for 2008 anyway its good for now oh yeah I use the coach folder also but the first thing I did was go and save a copy of the 2006 sgsm folder just to be safe. only three players had pink heads so far but I fixed that already JJ Ridick Orl and Marcus Williams G ST Shawne Williams Dall

Not sure what's causing that but no doubt a by-product of the conversion. I'll look into it.

Sorry, I'd rather not as I intend to include art in the next release. In the meantime, I'd recommend doing what clow36 suggested.

I've done a little more work on the rosters this evening and should have that crowd problem fixed up, thanks again to Erchamion for the heads up. I'm also confident that I can resolve the FSS error. Now we just need to compile the art. :)
