i'm new to 06 tho i've played nba live since 95. i've left live 2000 (finally) and am learning 06 cuz of the project.
2, maybe obvious gameplay questions...
1, how do you turn off auto sub,
and 2, how do you edit player's height & weight?
any help would be appreciated

1. Set the User Substitution slider to 0.
2. Those can be changed in appearance.dbf. The HEIGHT field is in inches while the WEIGHT field is in pounds. You can use DB Commander to edit the values as you wish.
Player names do not show up in appearance.dbf though, so you'll first need to look at players.dbf, search for the player you wish to change and note the number in his PLAYERID field. You can then search for this number in the APPEARID field in appearance.dbf to locate his data.

The sub slider is arguably the better way to go in terms of getting the results you want, since you can have frequent auto subs, sparodic auto subs or not auto subs at all. An on/off toggle is a lot clearer though.

andrew,
how come when i edit values, height & weight, in db commander, it doesn't change in the game? i've changed both the current db and the working db but when i go to the game, nothing's changed and when i go back to db commander, the figures have reverted to the original numbers.
i'm sure it's somthing simple i'm missing.

You should always edit a saved roster instead, that way you can re-load the rosters with the changes you've made.
