apoligies, i searched and couldn't find answer quickly.
What is the setting for NLSC, or otherwise, what do the best live players use for multiplayer?
User or CPU Shot setting?

Personally, I prefer User since it takes timing into account as well as a player's ratings. That way, I have more control over the shot rather than being at the complete mercy of the game.

example with user shot:
(superstar level)
Nick (the Quick) van excel will hit 8/10 shots directly over Zo and another player double teaming him. as long as the shot is release well by the controller then its money.
CPU shot in this way will give nick the quick about 1/10 which is more true to life.

i dont think it takes in the players ratings as much as the broad categorised jumpshots.

medium: ? grant hill

The field goal rating does come into play regardless, but when it's set to User the timing of your release of the shoot button determines the shot for the most part. As you noted, the timing differs depending on the player's shooting form.

When CPU Assistance is turned on, the team that is behind will be able to catch up more easily while the team that's ahead will begin to struggle (usually by missing dunks and layups). It's kind of like the comeback logic the CPU take advantage of but it can work for the user as well.
