How to steal Inbound Passes

Postby shobe81 on Thu Jul 06, 2006 11:05 am

Well when I play online with other users, I have a hard time stealing when they are inbounding the ball, but when I inbound the ball they get it a lot from me.

How do I steal inbound passes easily, I know I have to be between the inbounder and the passer but what button do I press and when do I press it(timing) I have x360.

Please give me some advice on this, thanks

Just stand as close as you can to the inbounder but make sure you are in-bounds. Press the right analog stick to raise your hands up(if thats what it is on the X360), most of the time that cuts down a lot of the passing routes and the ball hits your player in the hands and goes straight down giving you an easy steal. Not sure if this works on the x360 version though, i play on PC.

I just guard the guy they're going to pass to, if you play man defense and everyone is guarded and nobody is open they pass it to the PG 90% of the time so just press steal by him. Its also better if they're moving.

Raise ur hands up and guard the PG, they go to him most of the time. The steal button doesnt work that well(unless ur stealking with boykins or iverson who have a high steal raitng).

It should also be noted that a lot of people look on constantly trying to steal the inbounds pass as a cheap tactic, so if you're in a league make sure it's not against the rules.

get infront of the opponent and keep pressing (x). I think (x) button is also steal on defense. So pretty much the same thing. Enjoy.

Thanks for the help, and this isn't against the CPU just to clarify.

Andrew you got it, that is the reason why I wanted to learn, I am tired of people being cheap and stealing the ball from me on the inbound every time so I wanted to learn it and use it against them only if they use it.

I am also disappointed when online players just stand on their offensive end of the basket with 1 player and wait for me to make the shot or miss and then pass it long down the court for an easy 2.

2 reasons why I get annoyed from NBA live 06

Easy, start using the direct switch player which is (LT) button for 360. Simply hold (lt) button and press the button whichever player you want to pass it to. When you do an inbound pass, there should be atleast 2 of your players trying to get the ball. So trick your opponent.

For your other problem about those cherry picking bastards who stays by thier court, all you have to do is take your time when the ball is yours. Remember, theres a 24 sec shot clock.. that is a pretty long time to get a clear shot if its 4 vs 5. Take your time and make damn sure the basket goes in, I'm assuming he cherry picks it because you probably rush your shot everytime. Trust me, I use to hate these problems too. Hope that will solve your problems.

Cheesers at EASO use it everytime, so if you want a clean game find a league and dont play at EASO.

A lot of the time I find that the game will not allow me to attempt to intercept an inbounds ball. But then weeks later it'll change for no reason and I'll be able to do it again. *shrug*
