Team Records

06-07: 27-31 [Did not make the playoffs]
07-08: 31-27 [Swept in round one]
08-09: 33-25 [Eliminated in round 2, game 5]

Right now, I'm 17 games into the 09-10 season, and my record is 9-8 because of inconsistent play by CB4. He's been rather on and off ever since a serious injury last year. As you can see, I've radically shaken up the roster, but to no avail, as the team still remains a lower/mid-tier team. I originally had Odom as Bosh's sidekick, but it failed miserably, and so I picked up Chris Paul, and Kirk Snyder, as well as Desmond Mason in order to liven up my offense. This has also failed miserably. Because of CP's great play, I'm think of getting rid of Bosh for a couple of solid role players and basing my team around Paul, seeing as he's younger, and seems more promising for the future.

I'd just like for you guys to critique my dynasty and maybe find a few holes in this roster, or pointers that could make this roster a solid contender in the future.

Also, it would be appreciated if you guys would post your sim dynasties (it doesn't have to be as detailed, of course) just to share some of your experiences.

Thanks for any feedback. :)

It's generally good to have good reserves as well when you are doing simulation mode. I find that a lot of people underestimate the importance of the bench...I get players injured every playoff and if you have a good reserve that can step up for your All-Star lineup you are in good hands. Maybe they actually play every game. It doesn't work too well in simulation, I assure you.

Keep Bosh. Bosh is a good player. Your lineup is generally good, but I'd trade Snyder for someone else, since his ratings will be going down any time now. Mason is OK...but I'd probably trade in Calderon and Snyder for young players on the rise at those positions. I had a list somewhere but I think you shouldn't have too much trouble finding players that go up. If you can, try to get SF Gerald Green. He makes big leaps and starts out at a low rating. Also draft players with excellent or good potential. I also generally get 2 assistant coaches and 2 decent trainers (getting the worse scout).

Players on your lineup to keep: Bosh, Villanueva, CP3, Graham

So in short: Trade for/draft high potential players, starters AND reserves. Your reserves in the 60's will NOT cut it.

As for my best dynasty...the Atlanta Hawks (completely simulated without a fantasy draft):

2005-2006: 28-54, 12th in the East (no playoffs)
2006-2007: 52-30, 2nd in the East, Finals win over the Spurs
2007-2008: 57-25, 1st in the East, Semifinal loss to Cavs
2008-2009: 58-24, 1st in the NBA, Finals loss to Rockets
2009-2010: 63-19, 1st in the NBA, Finals win over Mavs
2010-2011: 63-19, 1st in the NBA, Finals loss to Rockets
2011-2012: 69-13, 1st in the NBA, Finals win over Warriors
2012-2013: 69-13, 1st in the NBA, Finals win over Lakers
2013-2014: 70-12, 1st in the NBA, Finals win over Blazers
2014-2015: 73-9, 1st in the NBA, Finals win over Spurs
2015-2016: 71-11, 1st in the NBA, Finals win over Blazers

Champions over those years: NJ, ATL, IND, HOU, ATL, HOU, ATL, ATL, ATL, ATL, ATL

Lineup in 2007-2008:

C: Yao 91/Bogut 80/Dak 66*
PF: Amare 95/A. Jefferson 76/Harding 70*
SF: Josh Smith 86/G. Green 78, Sellers 68*
SG: Gordon 83/McCants 72/Closs 70*
PG: Livingston 78/D. Williams 76/Murray 65*

* = Drafted

Best starters (2013-2014): Yao (93), Amare (99), Josh Smith (94), Gordon (87), Livingston (83), plus all reserves in 80's and high-to-mid-70's

I generally trade for all the players I want in the 1st and 2nd seasons, then watch them grow with the help of assistant coaches and natural progression. Of course, I only pick the players with the greatest potential too...both through trading and drafting. I generally just keep the same lineup (after I get one) for years and years...even forgoing draft picks, since they never become 90's anyway. Just as long as you get players with excellent or good potential.

Well, even if he doesn't want to make a team that hardcore, he can still do the above for his starters and what not.
