dynasty tips 4 someone who doesnt want cpu created rookies?

Postby kingjames23 on Mon May 29, 2006 6:42 pm

id rather trade my draft picks for real players or just forfiet the picks.... but which would be better for salary cap space??? i hate the cpu created rookies.... honestly.

also, should i resign players or let them go and persue other free agents? it always seems like im better off keeping players i have and being way over the cap than to not resign and only be able to pick up crappy free agents. but then im way over the cap and nobody will frickin trade with me.......

and when i do resign players... should i front load their contracts? or pay them more at the end of thier careers? any tips would help... thanks

It depends on the situation. If you have low picks, you might find it's easier to just forfeit them.

As far as free agency is concerned, if there isn't anyone on the market who interests you and you'd rather keep your own free agents, you might as well re-sign your players. If you're over the cap regardless there's not much point entering a bid for top free agents since you can only offer the minimum.

I try to front load contracts whenever possible to try and give me room down the road.

What do you mean by front loading?

front load means you pay more to the guy youre signing at the beginning of his contract and less each year after that.... back loading is the opposite

It doesn't matter. if u go deep into ur dynasty ever real player will retire and u'llbe left with generated players!

Eventually you'll have to play with CPU Generated rookies, there is nobody i think that can last the whole 25 years. If you're really, REALLY lucky you can try to get Gerald Green, Andrew Bynum, and Martell webster not to retire, i doubt that'll happen though.

I'm assuming that kingjames23 would start a new Dynasty when the generated players start outnumbering original players, but in the meantime would like to play a few seasons without using the generated rookies.
