you still have the problem?
when you switch graphic cards, it's best to format the system, especially if you switch between ati <-> nvidia.

Hi folks,
I've got another problem starting the game. When I insert CD1 or CD2 after some loading time there's a message appearing in front of the splash screen. It says something like "a cd/dvd emulation program is running. please shot it down and restart the game". Has anyone had the same problem so far or has any clue how I can avoid that message.
I've got no cd/dvd emulation program installed on my pc.
Thanx in advance!

Format??? hahaha, oh god please don't say that lol! My guest account is a beauty, set up using hard working, do registry editing for it to make it all child proof hahaha.
I might update to SP2 and give it a whirl then, but I won't do that till after Monday (17/10) as for I got a major report due and want my computer running in that time (assuming something might go wrong).
Thanks, I will update you guys on Monday, if nothing then yuh, I might need to format.

Doctor Jay, are you sure you dont have ANY emulation software?
Alcohol 120%, Daemon Tools, Virtual CD, ...
never heard of a false detection of emulation software.

Ok,
I solved the problem. I had to uninstall CloneCD! Damn copy protection...

I have the same problem
I have to klick on the exe-file about 10 times till the game finally starts, although there is the image.
and then the game crashes some minutes later

is there no way to solve the peoblem the game seems to have with ATI?

what drivers are you using?
try upgrading to the latest 5.10 from ati.com or try installing omega-drivers.
Thu Oct 20, 2005 8:44 am
I tried both, but no success
the strange thing is that playing games is not the biggest problem
after I started the game (after numerous attempts), I was able to do 3 or 4 games with each quarter-length 5 minutes and it was working perfect, no problem
but when I started the dynasty mode, got some coaches and scouts, simulated 2 or 3 games, everything collapses after some minutes, the cursor first, I do not even get back to the desktop so I have to reset the computer

I think I'm having the same problem....
The game loads with no problem at all.
I clicked Play Now and left all the settings at default (I tried to play Detroit). But after all the loading / reading thing, the game hangs. The graphics is 'garbled'. I can see all their faces but I can's see their uniforms and the crowd (It's all black out there). It will pause for about a minute, resume for a second, pause for another minute...etc...
Pls. help!!!! I really like this game. I'm an avid follower of the NBA Live series.
Thanks...

I am having the same problem, I put the 2nd CD in, I either start it from my hard drive or it auto-starts from the CD, the NBA Live 2006 splash screen comes up, my CD-ROM (DVD drive actually since my CD-ROM/Burner isn't too reliable) starts spinning then stops 4-5 seconds later and the splash screen just sits there. I thought it was the intial "boot up" to get things going, so I let it sit there for 10 minutes sometimes, and nothing. Have tried this in the morning, afternoon, evening, any time possible. I've re-installed twice and the same problem occurs.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thank you.

your graphic card isn't good enough i'm afraid. but if the .exe crashes you might wanna try reinstalling it after defragging your hard drive.
