Talk about NBA Live 06 here.
Tue May 30, 2006 5:11 am
My starting lineup is:Ben Wallace, Amare Staudemire, Tayshaun Prince, Kobe Bryant, and Gilbert Arenas. I don't have a very good bench, though.
Tue May 30, 2006 5:18 am
To be honest this sucks... this team is stacked. For me it would be no fun to play with such a team.
Tue May 30, 2006 5:48 am
I would have no fun at all playing with a line-up like that. especially not in dynasty mode. it is much more fun to manage a team in a realistic way with realistic trades.
Tue May 30, 2006 8:07 am
CAN U SAY STAK'D??? As eisfeld said, its no fun to play, so I'm gonna say 8.
Tue May 30, 2006 3:58 pm
I must agree, it's an impressive lineup so even without a deep bench you've managed to swing some good deals but I don't find a lineup like that very appealing to play with either.
Tue May 30, 2006 4:31 pm
If you would think about it realistically, how long would that team hold together? How would they manage to share the ball?
But it's a video game, I've traded my bench many times in past NBA Lives

my favourite starting five in Live 2001 was
C - Shaq
PF - Webber
SF - Garnett
SG - Rasheed
PG - Armstrong

thats why i play in superstar mode
Wed May 31, 2006 9:57 am
Most of us do, but I still find having such an impressive lineup isn't much fun. I prefer a more balanced, realistic lineup.
Wed May 31, 2006 11:43 am
^^ like my raptors lineup
c - Boris Diaw
pf - Brian Skinner
sf - Marvin Williams
sg - Vince Carter
pg - Sam Cassel

even in superstar mode, i would not use that lineup, yes it can be fun at first but after a very short while, you will be tired of that team real fast so I would go with a realistic team for better gameplay and fun so I would rate it low

I don't think it's that hard even playing in superstar mode with that line up. I don't think my team is that good compared to yours and I play superstar mode with fatigue level up to 50.. I still win most of the time.

he didn't asked ya if it's fun to play with this squad.
as a matter of fact, you are a good gm if you got this squad, it maybe not much fun but atleast you can win al the time.
i suggest you trade areans for a decent playmaker, you got bryant as a scorer, or just trade him for a player like tj ford, or rafer alston which i very like and for a bench player.
also i suggest you trade ben, you got here a nice run and gun team, and ben can stuck your attackes, try move amare to the c spot, and trade ben for an athletic pf.
the best i got for ben in the past was chris bosh, and he is great player for your team, so try your luck.
Thu Jun 01, 2006 10:26 am
i asked how good it was, not how fun it would be.
Thu Jun 01, 2006 11:32 am
you asked us to rate your gm skills and to be honest they arent very good if you can trade away your whole bench on a video game and get a line up thats very dumb to play with
most of us here can take a random 5 guys on your bench and still do alright on superstar let alone with those 5 guys..

how good is Boris Diaw holding his own at Centre in Live? I have three scrub/moderate/project centres (Araujo: damn good at backing down people, averaging like 8 and 6, decent i guess, Pape Sow: alright coming off the bench i guess, will go on rebounding sprees sometimes, DJ Mbenga: alright backup, grabs a crap load of rebounds in the minutes given, occasional block, even had one 5 block game

) that im trying to develop. For the criteria i require of them, they do pretty well. Anyways, I want Diaw but then i have Villanueva doing a good job starting at SF with Graham backing him up, but I want Graham getting minutes so the best place for Diaw on my team is probably centre. if hes good enough to hold his own, ill probably try to trade for him or sign him in the offseason.

And we're just offering extended opinions on the subject. As I said, he's managed to make some good deals but personally I wouldn't find that lineup very appealing to use.

all i want to know is how good it is, not if u would get bored or if u could win with my bench, or for extended options. Damn!

In order to really rate your GM skills you have to show us your bench and the trades you've made. And from a GM standpoint: This lineup sucks because of the immense salary cap you have or will have.

Settle down. A confrontational attitude like that won't get you anywhere.
We all have different criteria as to what constitutes good trades. I'm sorry the feedback hasn't been what you expected or hoped for but if you don't want people's opinions, then don't ask for them. The whole point of good discussion is to explore different points of view and aspects of the topic.
Going back to everyone having different criteria, as eisfeld said without more information about the specific trades you made and the bench you've put together not everyone can offer a sincere opinion. That's not an unreasonable request and certainly shows willingness to respond to your topic. And for the sake of discussion, people might post a couple of other opinions as well. That's the whole point of a discussion Forum, after all.

Well there's a few ways to look at your lineup I suppose. It all depends on what your style of play is. If you play with the default "0" on the fatigue slider (fatigue is what makes your players tired or not, and necessitates your substitutions), then I imagine it would be great, because your starting five are in the whole game.
But, like some others said, if your bench really is poor.... that's no good. I'd rather have a balanced lineup, personally. And the salary cap is probably pretty rough to deal with as well.
So, it just all depends on what gameplay style YOU want to play. Your opinion is the one that counts.
If you are going to post things for people to review.... you have to take the good AND the bad. If you only want good reviews... showing it to hundreds of strangers on the internet probably isn't a good idea.

You have over 20 votes on your poll, and alot of responses that are giving you honest criticism. I'd say your question has been answered.
This is a forum for open discussion. I can guarantee you if this thread continues to be open, you're just going to get more reponses that upset you, so let's end it.
