why insid, he is hitting more threes than inside shots
*Sigh*
No he isn't. Artest has made 78 3pt shots this season. Using stats from 82games.com, I calculated the number of inside shot attempts that he made to be about 150.
Second of all, you have to consider playing style. Do you see Artest wrapping floating in the air and sinking impossible jumpers over people, doing crazy up-and-under moves under the basket, or doing fancy wrap-around layups? No. Over the last few seasons, Artest has scored well inside, while he hasn't shot as well outside. He gets a lot of his points by driving hard and powering to the basket. The inside scorer moves have a lot less finesse and flare to them, so I think they're more appropriate. Just because you're a good guard/forward doesn't mean you're an outside scorer. That's why I don't support Richard Hamilton being an outside scorer either.
