Changing Appearance of a Person

Mon Apr 10, 2006 9:14 pm

I drafted a generated rookie, and want to change his appearance to look like some other player I created.

Which DBF file do I use to change this?

appearance.dbf

Check the dbf guides on the site

That only has stuff like shoes, arm bands etc.
I need to change skin colour, facial stuff and all that.

Thats in appearance.dbf.

EDIT:

COLOR: Player's skin colour. Number corresponds to a skin tone.
0: Pale White
1: White
2: Brown/Light Black
3: Black
4: Dark Black
BODYTYPE: The size of a player's body.
MUSCLETEXT: How toned a player's muscles are.
0: Muscular
1: Somewhat muscular
2: Not muscular

Ive got this:

Thats my created player, he has no info for facial stuff (and what is there doesnt seem to be enough info considering all the possible changes you can make when you create a player)

The blanks I assume mean 0. Thats what usually happens.

But what about the nose, hair, mouth, chin, neck, and all the other things you can edit when you create a player?

*it seems its in C:\Program Files\EA SPORTS\NBA LIVE 06\sgsm\players but how do you
a] open the .viv files?
b] know where the player is?

That goes under the FACEID I think. Because created players received FACEID's whilst non-created players have a -1 FACEID which means they have a cyberface.

I'm not sure if that's right.

But if you've already made the created player in the rosters, then just copy+paste his dbf appearance line and change his PLAYERID accordingly to the generated rookie. (If the generated rookie you want to replace is 2510, then copy+paste line and change PLAYERID to 2510)

The created player is in a different save game, so I cant copy that line into the one I want

I changed the FACEID to 212, which is the same as the created player, but it didnt change anything.

Check out faces.dbf.
You need to find out what the faceID is for the player you want to change and then copy all the info in faces.dbf from 212 to the line of the new dude (except the faceID # of course).

It has changed the appearance of the person when I go to 'edit player' in roster management, but in the game it has a black head on a white body :(

Does anyone have any ideas? If not, I can just change the body type to be the same as his face, that works, but I'd rather not :(
