easier way to block shots with guards?

Thu Mar 30, 2006 7:20 pm

Hey guys, im new the the forum, i was just wondering is there is a trick any of you guys use to block shots with shooting guards and point guards, or even smaller small forwards. im using the old chicago bulls team with jordan and pippen and i have a lot of trouble blocking with jordan. i use the slider on the roster updates for this website. any comments tips suggestions would be great thx.

probably put the Blocking Slider up to 100...

the answer is.. there is none. jumpshots are very hard to block in 06 unless he didn't release it on the peak of his jump. just try to reduce midrange or long range shooting. a 20-25 rating would be nice.

The only players that can get you 2-3 blcoks a game are the Inside Stoppers. Its almost impossible to time the block right on the jumpshot, but inside its possible to block lay ups!

Normally when you're the defense in transition with your guard (in your case Jordan) and another (smaller) guard, it's easy to get blocks, just jump when the guy goes up and sometimes you get the block. Blocked jumpers don't come around often.

i didn't quite understand what you said. it's easy to get blocks?? blocks for layups you mean?

its practically impossible to block shots, but layups are easy to block. you need at least a decent block rating (55+) and a good jump rating if youre short to block layups

yeah, i think that kind of shot is easy to block (relative to jumpshots). but by barbosa.. the hardest layup to block is when the players goes so deep, he'll make a boarding layup which is very very hard to stop. you need to be accurate on the timing but sometimes your player doesn't even jump to block it even though you're pressing the block key.

behind the back layup by the FSS OS is one of the hardest shots to block in the game.

And when you're player doesnt jump its usually because hes touching another player who's "forcefield" is holding him back, or hes under the hoop.

try delaying your jump. for me.. the easiest shot to block is the layup, then dunk, then the 2 FSS OS layups.

I was playing my friend and I blocked Amare with Redd and I beat him too with EA's default roster, Bucks vs. Suns.

I once blocked the hell out of Bibby with Iverson, I have a screen of it too.
