How do trades work - I can't figure it out

Postby Silky Johnson on Tue Mar 14, 2006 11:10 am

I've been playing Live 06 for a few weeks and am not sure how the trades are determined. I can very rarely get a trade accepted, even thought the salaries line up and the players are often similar ratings.

What really determines whether or not a trade will work? Are including draft picks really worth anything? I need some help here so that I can construct better (and more) trades.

For example, I started a Dynasty as Milwauke and the only trades I could realy get through were Dan Gadzuric and a crap SG for Jonathon Bender…and Reeces Gaines for Bryon Russell. I can't get any other trades approved.

Help!!! Thanks

It's all about cap. Try matching up there salaries.

EG.

Let's say ...
Rip Hamilton ( 78 ) 5.35 Million

for

Rashard Lewis ( 77 ) 5.75 Million

Try to get there cap as close as possible.

Thanks, but how much do their ratings matter?

I understand the need to get the cap close, but how close do their ratings need to be?

Sometimes it does.
Look at the interest meter. Thats a big factor.

In addition to the Interest bar, the overall ratings does come into play. Generally the CPU won't accept anything where the total overall rating of the players you are trading is not equal or higher to the total overall rating of the players it is sending you in return.

you also have to think about their superstar ability. If you're trading a non-superstar for a superstar, they will most likely reject it even if the two players have the same ratings and salary
