forgive me when i say NBA 2k6 is a SIM! live06 and 2k6 are completely different games, one arcade the other sim. if you "just like but", don't like, WTF, or absolutely hate live06, cause it suck or its arcade, then let 2k6 lead you to the LIGHT . the two games are so different to the point where its like a cross town baseball rival of the Cubs and White Sox(champs of the world), if you love one, you hate the other!
if you hate both, then you hate the NBA(2k) and basketball(EAa) or you have a problem...........and you don't need to be in houston

when i started this thread, i have no intention of bringing up 2k6, because i was expecting every to vote no, and stick with LIVE being arcade. but that was never the case, as you can see 24 approve to zero, and all the complaints from the posters saying the game being arcade............and i have said this many times before, what you like, LIVE or 2k, arcade or sim, is your opinion, and 2k is sim while live is arcade is the facts. but everyone is complaing that they hate "the best game" being arcade, like they don't know about 2k being a sim. you know how ironic that sounds? don't you think its just logical to try something that have your personnality and likes written all over the cover? or just try something else(cause there are options) if you hate what you have?

explain to me how the following stats aint sim, plz explain to me

Please explain to me if im getting these results in a 12min quarter game, that Live aint sim, HELP ME OUT HERE

OMG!!!!!!we actually have something in common, i use the nets too! can you imagine? i can tell you would also prefer sim over arcade cause you care about stats just as any sim fan would, and being live it is, you have to tweak with sliders to have it the way you have it, going thru all the trouble just for stats. but while the STATS are real, the star of the show is the GAMEPLAY, and can you swear to GOD(if you believe in him) that the star of the team is REALISTIC. that there is actuall play calling from both the cpu and user, that players like RIP will cut thru screens to gets his midrange, that we will not see th PG taking all the shots, that the flow of the game is real, that you wouldn't see a charging animation while posting up, that kobe will take the game winner, that there is ball rotation and defensive rotation, that superstar having the ball in their hands when it counts, that when ray shoots over dirk, he wouldn't get his shot block because dirk is just taller. mh.......can you? but lets say, live really is somewhat a sim, and you like it because of that, then still you would like 2k6 better, because wether live is a sim or not, its still nothing close to 2k6 of a sim. 2k6 is the closing to the NBA(period)

Team Specific plays allows CPU teams to play like REAL LIFE players, its the lil things dat EA always dont do dat gives it a bad rep,if u set the CPU team strategy, they play the most fuckin sim game,cause they run actual players for their stars....but NOOOO ,EA wont put in these plays, i have to waste 5mins each game to set the team plays,which annoys me......believe me I was a fan of 2k3(dat game still stands as one of the best all time),i played live2004 and 2K4 but there was somethin about Live dat just made me more hooked onto, i FEEL that Live's gameplay is really authentic with sliders,the array of moves is endless, the animations, the dunks, the crossovers,i feel in total control at any given time...ppl keep confusing SIMULATION with graphics, while 2k got the better graphics, dat dont mean its sim, 2k is a well presented , almost like "broadcasted game", adds dat TV presentation touch to it but its gameplay is just soo flawed.....Live Series i think are made for both the Simmer and Arcade User, in my dynasty when im playing i use sim sliders, when im chillin wit friends, theres no need to memorize so many button combos*cough isomotion*, i change my sliders to arcade and enjoy dunking the fuck outta the whole place

Well, I have been an avid online player since '03 and this year is by far the most arcade like. I know people want to win and have a good recordx online, I do too. But, I refuse to abuse the system and short chance myself of at least trying to play a semblance of sim basketball. Most online guys jus take one player, powerdribble around for 20 seconds and come from behind the backboard for a reverse layup. They do this on 90% of their plays. it is virtually unstoppable. Now I don know how fun that is to you guys, but using the same player on every play with the same move is not much variety. I on the other hand choose the road of skill, taking the miderange jumper, calling the screen and roll for TD, or actually watching the court for a streaking Rich Hamilton. So, ineviteably it is up to the player how they choose to play. Do you up your skills and apply some basic REAL basketball principals or do u jus half learn to play and know u can win jus abusing a glitch or overpowered move?

I prefer Live for two reasons: familiarity and the fact it's a PC release. I'm not going to sit here and trash the 2K series or anything like that, but I'm just not moved to make to the switch for those two reasons.

ok, i can't ague about live being a sim or not, since you have the game while i only played it for a few hours. but it work the other way around as well, i have 2k6 while you never(maybe) only played it. no game is perfect, but 2k6 is flaw to a point where the game still deserves a very high score, because all games are flawed, thats why 10s are never being given out, so can you say live06 is not flaw?

now, to get back on topic, the live franchise has never ever develop a reputation of a sim b-ball game. the aguement is no aguement, its ONE AGAINST A MILLION, you being the one, the million others who say live is arcade are the people who BUY live06, FANS of live06, people on this FORUM, people on 2k's forum, 2k FANS, people who BUYS 2k, my expirence with the game, IGN reviewers, and GAMESPOTS reveiwers. who should i believe?

and saying 2k has better graphics(true), but not a good sim gameplay is streakly retarded. again it goes back to the same thing, the aguement is ONE AGAINST A MILLOIN. and your're not even the "one" this time, cause you don't even have the game!

i don't care how much you tweak with the sliders, it will never be close to 2k in terms of being real. plus 2k has sliders too, and this an advantage for 2k, since adjusting sliders can easily make 2k6 ARCADE, casue arcade is just simpler, dribble, drive and dunk. to use sliders to try to make an arcade game sim is just complicated in so many ways.

more moves? don't even get me started. the most obvious comparision is freestyle dribbles vs. isomotion dribbles; and freestyle superstars and the shot stick. isomotion has 15 different type of moves off the dribble, and all of can be chain together for different and stylish moves. and like you said, 2k has better graphics, which means better animations and recations. how many moves do live06 have? more or less, from expirences i can tell that the animations and reactions are not that good. when someone gets crossed, the defender FALLS the same direction as the ballhandler. shot stick applies to everyone, alot more controls, but not eveyone has the same moves. fss only apply to some people, and you can only be one type at a time, that is lamb........all this is just my opinion, but more moves belongs to 2k6...fact

again, to you live maybe a sim, but 2k is the sim for everyone else, live fans, 2k fans............muslems , or what ever![/url]

andrew, i see what you meant--there are way more casual gamers than hardcore sim fans. i got a cousin who comes over and play 2k6 with me or against the cpu, i have never seen him take A jumshot. all he do is attempt to drive all the time, and he constantly get charging call, but still it didn't stop him. and he only playing in pro level. to my knowledge, he love the NBA not just basketball, but i guess he don't care how they play.

well im not a member of a live cult, so long as EA keeps making ME feel like i got my money's worth, i could give a FUCK wat some reviewers and users say about live....
