roster updates with missing legends

why is it that any roster update with missing legends that i try to use in my game doesnt work? soon as it ry to edit like jordans shoes..game just ends..if this issue cant b solved..whats the long way of getting the legends in the game? like do i create the player myself or what? plz hlp
