Help on players DBF...

Tue Oct 18, 2005 11:41 pm

Please guys I need your help...
I'm trying to erase some retired players from my rosters(M.Curry,A.Houston ecc), and I do it using my CDBF and erasing them from my documents/NBAlive06/database/Current Db...well after this those players are not in the game anymore,BUT all the other players' heights n weights change suddenly...every other one!
What thee hell am I missing? Where's my fault?
Thanks... :?: :?: :?:

Don't delete players from the dbf files. Lower their ratings so that no team would ever sign them. EA's dbf files are structured without a primary ID key, if you move or delete a player you will screw up the database. For example, if Paul Pierce is the 40th record in players.dbf then the 40th record in appearance.dbf should also be Pierce's. If you were to delete Jason Collier from the Hawks, then Pierce and everybody below Collier would end up with the wrong features. Therefore give Collier and Alan Houston very low ratings and move them to the free agents. If NBA Live 06 is like last years version you can have over 300 players in the free agent pool.

Then is it sure that's impossible?
That's not a great thing...I mean...even continue to see Collier on the free agent pool looks sad and macabre...
I was accustomed to Nbalive2000's dbffiles, where I have done everything I wanted to...

just go to the player.dbf, and change origteam and team value to 32 for players you want to retire.

- you wont see them in the game anymore. :)

hope that helps.

You have to change it to 38, not 32. 32 is one of the all-star teams, 38 is the referees, where you want to put it

nope its really 32. go check in team.dbf. :D

33-37 belongs to 50-90's all-star.

32 is Retired
33 - 37 are the All Star teams
38 is Referees

Putting them in Retired or Referees will "hide" them though (Y)

got another question
if i wanted to delete a create player in dynasty
what should i do?
just delete them or put them to team 32?

What if you put a player on the ref team will it make him a ref?

Wed Oct 19, 2005 3:06 pm

Nope, I don't believe it does make them a Ref because Dee Brown and Larry Nance are sitting in the Ref team as well, and I haven't seen them Ref a game

Thanks guys, that's a good solution...I'm glad to take them poor souls outta the free agent pool!
Thx everybody for your help!
