How do I ... (hard foul & 'see the star' when running pl

Hi:

Can someone tell me how to actually HARD foul in NBA Live 2k6 on an Xbox? I see it is a 'choice' using the blue X button, but I can seem to actually do it? Also, is it just some players that can hard foul, or can anyone do it?

Next:

I have read a LOT on this fourm lately that there is NO play animation like it 2k4. I also read that there is at least a way to see where the PG should 'move to' AFTER calling a play. I have tried this many times, but I can't seem to see the STAR. I do know what you guys mention because it happens automatically when playing March Madness 2005.

This is what I have done (to try and see the STAR). Using an Xbox with NBA Live 2k6 and the Denver Nuggets.

1. In bounds pass to Andre Miller (PG)
2. Dribble the BALL up and over center court
3. Call a simple play like a POST - UP (on of the auto four you have)
4. CLICK the right analog stick to bring up the ability to do an OFF-BALL control.
5. With Andre Miller still with the ball, a play called, and the off-ball still waiting for me to pick someone ....

I look and look for a STAR, so that I can move Andre Miller into position, but I never see any circles or stars?

Anything wrong with what I am trying to do here?

One more thought that just came into my mind is about a statement I read on another forum that says:

Right Analog Flick Up + Left Analog Hold Up(Facing Front of Ring): Dribbles around back then crosses over

I have tried and tried to do this, and I think I did do it once, but I cannot seem to do it time after time ....

I am not sure what 'facing the front of the ring' means ...
Is that when your player is at the top of the key, or the circle, or right under the basket with the U shape?

Thanks in advance for your time and any replies!

Continue to press steal button rapidly will cause your player to perform a hard foul.

Yea, it's what C.B.4 said, it works for the team specific plays, not the general ones...

Try flicking the right analog stick down while moving forward, that'll get your player to do a dribble behind the back and then do a crossover (This might be for PC though).
