Problems with Playbook

Postby Mark. on Thu Oct 06, 2005 10:18 pm

Hey I was wondering if the Playbook Diagrams are meant to be moving, cos all the plays a different from last years, and I dont knwo hwo they are emant to run.

is there some key i'm meant to press to start the diagram moving?

they just aren´t animated on PS2 (Xbox as well ? ), i could throw things at the programmers/EA because of that  It is just an absolute no-no to leave out those animations, it´s just a shame.
Maybe i can "semi-legally" get the PC-Version from a friend ...... I can´t play it really with my PC (that´s why i got the PS2 version ), but at least i can learn some plays there then, maybe draw some of them by hand (self-made diagrams with pencil and paper, jesus ....... ) .

I'm afraid there isn't one. I learned most of the plays on court: If you press the off-ball button after calling a play a circle will appear at the locationw here you should go to and a star will apper under the player(s) who you should pass to.

Kinda the same thing you could do in older lives by holding down the pass button. Pasicaly you can contoll an other player than the ballhandler without having a position locked.

Thanks for the Tip Heiks.

It helps a lot, although it looks to me like all the plays are jsut a matter of the PG holding the ball until someone pops out for the pass.

What about some plays where it gets passed round first.....

oh, so that is the way to see that round thingy on the floor...
saw it in the gameplay footages but not in my games,
thought it has to do with setting, or EA removed it...
LOL.
thanks Heiks.

No problem guys. And about the plays I think there was likt two where the PG will pass to a player who will pass to the next player (can't remember the plays' name though). So basicaly most of the plays are the matter of the PG holding the ball. That's just sad.

Well excuse me! I don't know how it's where ever you live but here in Europe the plays in a basketball game aren't just about the PG holding the ball for 10 seconds in the same location and then passing to a opening man running off one screen. There's a bit more depth than that.

Either way why did they have to take out the good old plays that we had since '99 if not earlier. Because that's they're all about: removing the good stuff and replacing it with acarde features.
