Talk about NBA Live 06 here.

I did a search so I hope this topic isn't already created. Anywayz, I went to several forums and heard that the offensive rebounding slider for CPU might be reversed. I'm current experimenting with it back to 90 instead of 0. If you guys have time, I would appreciate the help.

Interesting, but unlikely, since most people played the game before adjusting sliders and have experienced too many offensive rebounds. Will give it a try, though.

I have decreased the CPU's OR to 30 and increased mine to 70 and it looks to be balanced now. The higher the player jump the better he is at rebounding, even from behind. Example would be, Amare vs. Kwame.

How about Interception Ability??

i have both user and cpu Offensive Rebounding sliders at 0, and defensive for both CPU and User at 100.
At first i thought it made a difference, but after playing a bunch of games it doesn't seem much different.

Which reminds me, I should adjust that too, 2 of my players are leading the league in steals and that's unrealistic. But with the default seting, it's difficult to steal from the good guards and sometimes when you do tap the ball they will still recover it, unless you have a Wade or Bryant who would be faster on the ball.

Box out people! Hold down on the analog! everyone complains about offensive rebounding, try boxing out, people want a simulated game but don't play a simulated style, boxing out works...... BOX OUT!

I do box out. People jump over my back for the rebound anyways.

As far as I can tell, it's not reversed. It wouldn't be the first time that a gaming option in Live was rumoured to be switched, but I think it's just a placebo effect at work.

Setting the OFREB slider to 0 and still getting many OFREB just shows us that the slider in this case is pointless.

Tim, it's not only about boxing out, I'm playing DefREb 100 and OffREb 0 for both User and CPU and even though I'm doing fine with my defensive rebounds (just fine) I'm getting a lot of Offensive Reb myself, I can't make the CPU box out so the problem is still there. It seems it will need some player editing after all.

I like that; very creative! I'm gonna have to use that phrase more often for something that appears to work but doesn't.

Creative? It's seen everywhere in Psychology.

I think this is likely to be the case.

nico, what do you mean "your" getting alot of offensive rebounds? that's the problem? ha? That's not player editing, thats user editing, if you want to play a realistic game, after the shot, the Center usually runs down court for defense or like in the spurs "run for defense or run laps for an hour!" The only big men that coaches allow to stay in the front court for offensive rebounds are quicker centers like big ben. Because if he didn't get the rebound, then he can get down court and play defense. I still say, If you want to play a realistic game, it starts with the way you play. The sliders and ratings just help enhance the feel but of course, at the end of the day, it's still a computer program, thus needing user interface to work.
Salution, if your gettting too many offensive rebounds, then try to run down the court and rack up your blocks and play D. I bet you have a problem with the CPU running down court and getting easy 2's using gurads...
If not, then maybe I am wrong, sorry........

I agree with post 100% it will help the offensive rebounds go down for human player if they stay in controll of their shooters and get back on defense after the shot. I would rather let my AI Teammates try and get the rebounds on Offense because it makes it more realistic stats wise.
I also think that these settings might actaully be the best way to control offensive rebounding in the game this year. For some odd reason it appears Defensive REBOUNDING along with ON BALL PHYSICAL Defense is impacting offensive rebounding sliders aswell.
So, my setup is like this:
Human Offensive Rebound-0
CPU Offensive Rebound-0
Human Defensive Rebound-0
CPU Defensive Rebound-100
I basically narrowed everything down to ratings only mostly by zeroing out 3 of the 4 rebounding sliders available. That along with the fact that I get back on Defense helps aswell. Give it try and see how it works out. Zone defenses from time to time slows down offensive rebounding aswell because your clogging up the lanes. I have Zone defenses assigned to my team and the CPU teams I face and they run it from time to time believe it or not.......

I rebounded very well in all the previous Lives.
this year, on the offensive end, it's fine. My men didn't catch too much offensive board.
but on the deffensive end, no matter how good I boxed out the opponents, they could still grab the offensive rebounds.
I think it's really a glitch this year.
