Microsoft Sidewinder for gameplay question

Does anyone know if the config for this gameplayer is the same for '06 as it was for '05? Meaning, will I need a controller with the toggle sticks to play or can Sidewinders 10 button setup work ok? I prefer sidewinder and could not get used to other joysticks, which killed my '05 experience. Just want to know if '06 is, perhaps, more like '04 in that regard.
