An NBA Live Revelation

Postby DTNTER2003 on Sat Oct 01, 2005 4:03 pm

Well, I have finally figured out why NBA live 2006 commentary is jacked up. The game is a straight rip from Live '03. It is the same game only with better graphics. If you pay attention to the commentators, all the players and teams(in the commentary) correspond to the rosters from the 02-03 season. LOL. I mean c'mon man a billion dollar Fortune 500 company could do no better? EA sucks. Andrew, if you have noticed this, gimmie a nod or shake, but this is my theory. Peace Out.

, Hmm. I am with you when you say that 06 reminds a lot nba live 03, no doubt...
I haven´t noticed the commentary.. but that´s ok... I mean, there should be an effective system for 03 regarding the comments, like a starting point... Once they replaced steve kerr for fratello, they sould keep it simples the first season, and add some more for the upcoming versions...

It seems that EA divides the game developers in groups.. such as Graphics, Gameplaying, and apparently the Gameplaying have their turn to make whatever changes they want to, like implent the superstar free style....

Still. It´s a an awesome game....

Hopefully they will trade Peja for Artest and both teams will be fine!

It has been this way since 2003. Both 2004 and 2005 had the same thing. EA never bothered to change the database, so you'll see Shaq, Horry, Devean, Fox, Kobe, Fisher etc together in players.db.

Why should they change the database if those players are still in the game? Your statement is completely pointless...

yeah its exactly the same as live 03 except for:
the All star weekend (online), the differnt commentators, the pro hop, the fixed freestyle control, the superstar modifier, the off-ball play, the improved graphics, 05-06 rosters, new shoes, new rating system (globally rated higher), the ability to Dunk on people, the new and improved fastbreaks, being able to hire assistant coaches, scouts and trainers, the PDA system and Dynasty (tm) mode........

but apart from that yeah its the same........(N)

the only similarity with Live 03 is the name NBA Live.

Well You can easily add cosmetics and number crunching, but the gameplay model is the same as '03, that is all I am saying. They could have done better. Well I guess they feel we will buy whatever they throw up, so they don't bother to give us anything good. "Big Business"

you may have a point. I haven't played '06 yet so I cant dispute anything you say.

I do have Live 03-05....and '05 had a totally different "feel" compared to 03 & 04 which were same game with gamplay improvements
