Is there a good way to play D against high flyers or power superstars when they go for their dunks?
Hold up on freestyle stick?
Hold down charge button?
Jump and attempt a block?

wont that be a defensive foul call?

or is that even useful against the unstoppable freestyle dunks?

I was totally dominant in Live 05 but Live 06 is much more difficult, I like it. I actually get challenged. Teams like San Antonio and Detroit actually play defense. Players like Rip Hamilton actually run off screens to get open and pull up for a midrange jumper. This years game is awesome

Against high-flyers, either take the charge or go for the foul. But the best idea would be to just get to them before they take off and try to force them into doing something else.
Against power players, it's really hard. I find the best thing to do is just double team them all the time and try to block them. Hopefully you'll get them to miss the dunk; and if you get a foul instead, that's ok since big men aren't too good free throw shooters anyway.

Hmm. I play on AllStar level and I've set Free Throw Diff to 100 and there is 90% free throw perc. in every game. Even Shaq shots 80%.It really annoying.

I think 100% means a higher chance of it going in, and 0% is a lower chance of it going in?

Isn't that field for the user only? The higher the number the quicker the bars move on the backboard?

it's tough. because even if you do manage to block them, or get them to lose the ball, it bounces directly to another cpu player for an easy slam. this happened to me against the Bobcats. it was tied with 20 seconds left. Okafur tried to muscle his way to the hoop, i played super good D, blocked him... ball bounced straight to wallace for the easy slam with .4 seconds left.
This happens far too often in my games.
Something else i tried that seems to help a bit. If you're gettin torched by a guy inside, go to defensive matchups and set pressure to high and double team the guy that's torching you. This seems to help more this year than other years.

No. This slider is in Global section. And 100 is the hardest setting (0 is the easiest). I'm fouling a lot in my games but CPU gets too much point from free throws.
And even when Steve Kerr says that this guy is very weak free throw shooter he shots 8-9/10. And I can shot 100% if I concentrate.
Maybe when I switch to Superstar level it will be less FT points.

In the codes section, enter "bigbadbrawl" --- this will enable your team to flagrantly foul everybody in sight.

Just as a general help on D..try playing a 3-2 zone...seems to stem the amount of inside drives. Also when a power player gets the ball down low there is already a few players down there ready to double team.
Remember to set defensive pressure on your opposition.
These things have helped me greatly..i have found that playing man to man in this years version leads to higher scores from the cpu.
My first few games were rather high scoring affairs from myself and the cpu, but the last two have ended with wins from me with totals of 105 and 101.
12 min quarters on allstar.
