No DirectIP in NBA Live 06?

I just heard the rumor, that there will be no possibility to play NBA Live 06 via LAN or DirectIP – can anyone acknowledge this?

so online play through direct connection is still possible??
i ask because of online league play! we want to play next online season with 06 and without direct ip it would hardly be possible

Direct ip is there, but you cant play in league because there is no stat saving (again...
)

Was it my setup or does Direct IP stink in the Live series? It was always jittery and hesitating even though we both have DSL connections. Look at how well Call of Duty's online gameplay is - that game transmits far more data than any basketball game and yet it doesn't stutter one bit. EA really needs to get their act together. I don't have experience with EA's online service (don't want to pay to play) so I don't know if it's smoother to use.
