Bare in mind they used the top of the line gear to run the game and produce those screenshots and videos.
Just maxing out the details within the game wont give you the best visual quality, you need to enable anti-aliasing and anistropic filtering in your video card control panel to get the best visuals.
I run my game at 1024x768 everything max and it looks good, but today I turn on 4x anti-aliasing (smoothens out the edges around players and objects) and even though nba live has an anistropic filtering option it doesn't special which mode, so I turned on 8x anistropic filtering to make the textures alot more crisp, even objects in the distance show up with greater sharpness and quality.
