Pre-Order shipping from EA?

Just a question for anyone that has ordered Live directly from EA in the past. Did you receive it in the mail on the launch day? I seem to remember people posting that they received previous versions on or even before the official release date(s). Since EA's site now has Live 06's official release day as Sept. 28th, I was thinking I might want to preorder if I can get it quicker. The thing is, I have to go out of town the 29th, so I don't want to have it sent after I'm gone. Also, EA has free shipping, so that and not paying any sales tax makes it cheaper and more convenient than buying in a store.

Since you'll be out of town on the 29th, why don't you just simply order the game when you return. Then you'll be sure to receive it when you're home.

Does anyone know for a fact that EA has sent past games out prior to the release date???

I know for the past few years that they havent sent them before the release date, but back in the day im not sure

I can't speak for EA Sports, but I generally order the PC version from EBGames in the States so I'll get it before the Australian release and it generally comes a couple of days after it hits shelves.
