EA Bashing

I think both EA bashers and EA supporters have their reasons in some way. Of course insulting doesn't bring anywhere, but motivated criticism should lead somewhere.

EA bashing has started to become an "issue" only after it was pretty clear that the game was not going to look good. The lack of significant changes and a graphic that looks even worse than last year lighted up the fire.

A good company should be customer centric. If I am a project manager, I do listen more carefully to negative comments than to appreciations. Those are what pushes me to do better.

Last year EA brought in-house some guys from a forum (either this forum or nbalive.org...I can't remember). That was a nice idea and a good way to connect to your customer base. This year they haven't.

After reading the Q&A with developers, I felt they didn't have that much to say, simply because there wasn't enough new stuff to talk about. After the first few answers, the rest was a list of "NO".

Luckly, we have competitors that do put more efforts in the game development. Since this community is made mostly of PC users, most of you cannot appreciate other games. But this, in my opinion, has caused blindness to some of you.

Basketball videogames out there are already better than LIVE and look more authentic.

Not only NBA LIVE looks bad compared to those, but it looks bad also compared to other non-basketball videogames that are currently released on current consoles. The graphic and the phisyc can be a lot better on Xbox that they are in NBA LIVE. I just think EA is stucked to an old way of developing a videogame, the same way they have used since 1995. But times and technology have changed a lot, and so users' expectations.

I have paid EA a lot of money in my last 10 years, and I do have the right to complain. My money needs something in return, and simply they are not delevering it. If EA didnt have a rock-solid fans' base as unfortunetly they do, probably we would see more efforts. This is an example of what I am talking about:

How about I'm convinced, but not impressed?
I mean, I'm going to buy the game since I've been a fan for ages, but I'm not impressed at all.

I doubt EA really cares whether you guys bash, or not. Face it, this community is like maybe .25% of everyone who will buy Live. And while I know we all mostly want to see Dynasty improvements, and team strategies, and other stuff like that.. Fact is, most of the people who buy this game are getting exactly what they want. Freestyle superstars which ='s fancy passes dunks, and shots. EA is going to cater to the majority well before the minimum. So bashing is useless.

yeah but we are the heavy users, those who know this game better and discover all the flaws in it. they better listen to us.

In any case, i doubt that the rest of EA fans ar dumb ass, with plenty of money who just buy tha game because of the new athlete on cover with 06 instead of 05 printed on it.

Many will be pissed off this year.

Many will be pissed this year!!! I was on the FIFA website and even FIFA now has the ability to set ticket prices, budget, scout, release unwanted players, buy players, etc... When FIFA surpasses NBA Live in their Carrer Mode, you know there's a problem. This is only the second year FIFA has had a Carrer Mode!!!! All I have to say is that this year I'm only playing Madden and FIFA.

Wtf' i'm so disapointed, whats the problem, EA don't have enough time.,fck it, it would be better that live series releases every 2 year and maybe we will have better game,the game that we want with all the stuff in it we want, i'm not satisfied with the gameplay yet + dynasty and offseason-its a piece of cake to add more new features in dynasty and offseason., Seems that they didnt want to read all the requests in our Wishlist that we sent them.,

and 1 thing: they always talk about such a REALISM in live series especialy in 2005 and 06 but we still got alien dunks(from the screen or clock)-thats imposible in real nba and that is so fckn arcade-yeah' my little brother like that, but he is only 10 years old.

Well, you heard wrong. FIFA's season mode is already better than Live. Thats what pisses me off because I'm a huge fan of EA games and especially the Live series, and the last couple of years the Live series have minimal improvements.

Even though they may take selected parts from the wishlist, they've long enough ignored an often repeated wish: In-game saves. For some reason they took it out and never put it back in after all these years, and I've seen so many of these posts asking for the in-game saves, that it's just mind boggling that they don't actually implement it. It just seems like they don't care what we have to say, when a lot of us give pretty direct statements.

yeah:

PES = excellent gameplay - no in-depth modes
FIFA = decent gameplay - nice season/carreer
MADDEN = good gameplay (sliders do work actually) - superb franchise
MVP BASEBALL = good gameplay - good franchise.
NBA LIVE = decent gameplay - totally flawed franchise (i wont start pointing out all its flaws, just think of dirk sitting 2 years in the free agent list cause nobody can sign him or a projected nr 1 draft pick: 5'11'' SG at 60 fg - 60 3pt - 80 speed-40 dribbling - 75 offensive rebounding ).

Ok then, thats your opinion that one soccer game is better than another, but thats not what I'm saying. I'm saying that LIVE's improvements are minimal from year to year and FIFA improvements are greater. It looks like the FIFA team implements deeper enhamcements than LIVE. Thats all. It just seems to me that for the last 3 years, LIVE has put out the same game with little improvements for games modes and deeper Dynasty etc... LIVE has improved gameplay though, but a lot of gamers don't have time to play games, or play less than others, and just want the simulation aspect via Dynasty mode just as someone where to play The Sims or Sim City.
