Completly agree. Especially on this:

I think the skating effect is even worse than the last 2 editions of LIVE. EA just can't get it right, period.

Also, I don't like players models at all. They are not proportioned...head too big, short legs. Just look at 2K's models for 2005 or 2006 and you'll see they are better.

Graphically, the game is disappointing me.

The physics also is not convincing me, players look like they often face the wrong direction whenever they interact with other players or the ball.

Dribling: it looks like you just need to push the left stick to get rid of the defender...you just have to insist few seconds and you will eventually take the ball wherever you want to take it. I mean..on-ball defense seems to suck.

One last thing: I am just tired to see players jumping for a block attempt and not moving their arm at all. It would look a way more realistic if they actively tried to block it, instead of waiting for the ball to hit their arm.

I know, I own 2K5 as well. The only thing is that The association mode is plai boring compared to live's franchise. I usually play 2K if I want to play a single game, but I use Live whenever I wanna play the dynasty mode.

If 2k6 has a great association mode..then it may be the first year since 1997 that I'm not going to buy Live at all

The Association is great. Why don't you think so ? I love it, menus are so simple and you can export your team as a save file and play in single game mode.

Yeah I'm with CERVANTES, I don't find it boring in comparison at all. The whole draft/scout aspect especially is miles better than Live's especially little things like player heights changing when you scout them more etc.

Anyways to be honest if they could limit the speed of the roller blades that the players in Live are obviously wearing the game would be alot more enjoyable.

One thing I hate on ESPN's association is the stats. Live had a problem with PPG, and players getting to the line, but in ESPN you have the stupidest things like years where 3-4 guys average triple double's, the leading scorer averaging 23 PPG. perimeter players shooting disgusting percentages, you'll have Tmac shooting 55% FG and 51% 3PT

watch ESPN videos I posted in Other games section, and you will see all you whished in Live for years. I promise

I don't know why these companies don't steal from each other, I'm sorry, but if it's me, I wouldn't care. Their's things you want in Live in ESPN, then their's things you want in ESPN in Live. A big thing I had about ESPN is the control over triple threat position, ahhh!!!!!!!

Here is what I like in LIVE that is missing in ESPN:
- simulation intervention! (a great feature since I can usually skip the first 1-2 quarters and still feeling like I put my hands in every single game of the season. I hope they never take this feature out of the game..)
- scouting rookies all year around
- point rewards system that you can spend in players devolopement and scouting
- monthly awards (rookie of the montth, player of the month..)
- possibility to set NBA records and have them displayed in the album of record
- possibility to retire jerseys
- the full all-star weekend!!! That's just awesome!
- chance to play draftees one-on-one
- the GM evaluation thing....and the chance to receive offers to change your team
- possibility to modify players while in season mode, so that you can put headbands on and so forth
- a broader selection of retro jersey and possibility to select jerseys also for opponents in order to have as many retro nights as you like

What I like more in ESPN
- the draft itself is better (I agree) but I look forward to the chance to play them one-on-one..hopefully in 2k6
- the possibility to sign FA to the salary cap exception
- the trading block

Overall I feel like I have more control over my players and team in LIVE than in ESPN. In LIVE I feel like i am actually buildind a franchise every single week. Maybe is just a subjective feeling...

I agree with most of those points, except:

- point rewards system that you can spend in players devolopement and scouting

I hate that. The player development IMO is kinda cheap and should be done better, the scouting thing is alright but again could be better. The player/team development in 2K5 wasn't exactly much better to be fair.

- the full all-star weekend!!! That's just awesome!

It got pretty boring to me after the first season. I don't think I even played any of the all-star games more than once but they do need an all star weekend in 2K5.

- chance to play draftees one-on-one

Great concept, horrible execution. It's kinda difficult to evaluate a 7'2, 270lb C when you have to back the guy in from the 3 point line.

Simulation intervention was pretty cool (Y) I didn't use it much but I can definitely see the appeal.

- the draft itself is better (I agree) but I look forward to the chance to play them one-on-one..hopefully in 2k6

Actually they've announced that in 2K6 you'll be able to do year round scouting, and also when you try out your rookies you can use them in 1 on 1, 2 on 2, 3 on 3 or 5 on 5 ... something along those lines.

What's with all the ESPN talk? Isn't there another forum for that?

Anyway, here's the zip file I promised for those who haven't downloaded it yet.

How do we know that he can't dunk? Because in one video he didn't go up and slam it down on the alley-oop over a defender? C'mon now...

I agree with fgrep15, the players animations like shooting, dunking or bumping into each other look quite all right but when they just move around dribling looks very unrealistic. That dribling animations is the same since I think live 99 (N)

actually in all fairness i think the only reason why the video looked like basketball is because the guy playing it sucked major ass and had no idea about how the game of basketball should be played. the videos didnt look pretty but i dont think it represents the entire game.
