Expectations

If they aren't advertising anything about dynasty, then that means no dynasty changes or minor ones. That's just the way EA works. When the hell has EA ever put in a surprise dynasty feature? NEVER. They advertise small things like PDA and stuff like that, so this year, there will be hardly any new dynasty features. I can almost guarantee it. I don't really have high hopes for this year's nba live...and it's really sad. I've had high hopes since the SNES days of NBA Live...but now..I have finally lost hope.

Typical of EA they are filling it with as much fluff as possible in hopes the general public doesn't notice that the game is worse then nba live 2001.

Thats pretty true, but I'll still buy the game so i can have something to do when me & my roomate are bored.

I understand that the average video gamer will get excited by "fluff" (All star weekend, Freestyle , etc.) but the hardcore fans who have played every single version of Live will appreciate good gameplay and a deeper game because ultimately thats what is going to keep the game relevant after the newness wears off.

As for 2006, the Freestyle superstar thing sounds kinda silly. It kinda turns the game into a more organized version of NBA Street. I was hoping with the emergence of NBA Street that the Live Series would get back to being about gameplay a la the 2000 encarnation. EA should also do something about freestyle abuse. My lil brothers offensive just "freestyles" his way down the court and dunks with Kobe/T-Mac/LeBron. Personally, I dont think you can make 8 consecutive spin moves without loosing the ball or just falling down from dizziness.

I am also more excited about the Madden game because of the Superstar mode. And also madden has a much better and a lot lot deeper dynasty mode than NBA Live. But I am also disappointed that NBA Live is just not as good. Because I really love Basketball and I love the Live series but as Matthew said the game is just not improving. And as Saru said the Live producers have to realize that true fans dont care about the shoes and jerseys and tattoos as much as the DYNASTY mode. Please focus on that and the gameplay.

One more thing, does anyone else feel like the Live series is in the lameduck stage with the ESPN contract taking hold next year?

He means that EA probably wont put much into this years game, and build for 2007. Kind of like how live didnt put much into 2002, becuase there was no pc release, and just upgraded the rosters, and not much else.
