i just got a laptop pc and wanted to know how much a ps2 adapter would cost

Not sure, but don't count on being able to play Live06 on a laptop.

Laptops are bottlenecked in performance in nearly every category - particularly the video card.

My advice is that if you want to play games - purchase a good desktop system.
If you need to do work on the go, you can always get a cheaper notebook that will handle all of your 2D application needs.
