how to make nba live 2006 a classic

Sun May 08, 2005 2:55 pm

these are things to make nba live 2006 the best SPORTS game ever made
1st off........
cover boy
-either steve nash or lebron james
music
-more selection(less anoying music)
ratings
-more realistic: for ex: steve nash- 92; dwanye wade-86
player introductions
- showing team introduction video clip for home team
-have fireworks after team introduction, and smoke following it in the air to make it look even more realistic
nba all star weekend
-showing celebritys in front rows
-nba challenge(s)
-celebrity game
-more creative dunks in slam dunk contest(alley oops from other players and fans; a button to wave your hands and pump up the crowd before your dunk)
realistic tatics
-technical fouls in games (yelling at refs or shoving players)
-show fans interaction after a big play
- players on bench and crowd standing up at crunch time (momentum)
-players loosening up more during play; no stiff shooting or stiff moves-being more flexible on the floor
-post game show (inside the nba)
exclusive teams
-u.s.a dream team(s)
created players
-MANY more faces, hairstykes, etc...
dynasty mode
- avaliblity to create new jerseys as years progress
*new coaching mode (being able to run the team from a coaches prospective-every game is from the coaches point of view)
nba draft
- showing the players interacting with David Stern and his reaction to getting picked before standing at the podium

Allright, but the first step should be gameplay. I won't even begin to tell you how flat-out wrong everything you said is, or how it doesn't make sense.

Sun May 08, 2005 3:02 pm

Some nice ideas for the more superficial elements of the game, but Steve Nash, a 92? Such an overall rating would require some unrealistic individual ratings, especially as far as defensive ratings are concerned. Also, the NBA won't allow technical fouls or fights to be included in the game.

Sun May 08, 2005 3:03 pm

well you tell me how you would make the game better

Sun May 08, 2005 3:03 pm

if you think all of these is more important than the gameplay then you don't know what a good game is. if you have all of this and the gameplay sucks balls then it definitely won't be a classic

Sun May 08, 2005 3:24 pm

ok well this is my gameplay:
-if you notice on nba live 2005, if you create a player with a rating of 100, and play him in a game, the opposing player will score the most points on the team(ex: if the player is a pg on the knicks, and you are playing against the hawks, tony delk will score anywhere from 30-55 points) that is unrealistic and needs to be removed
-more fast break dunks.... especially for players like t-mac, vince carter, etc....
-being able to go after loose balls (diving in the crowd for one)
-slower pace
- realism in body movement (ex: steve nash's hair flopping as he runs)
-being able to actually jam in someone's face and taunting the opponent
-more wide open shots for players like reggie miller, ray allen....
- players yellling as the play (agressiveness)
-no more shooting on the backside of the goal

well............

Mon May 09, 2005 2:26 am

:? on second thought, i think t-mac should grace the cover of 06. it makes perfect sense. he never been on a live cover, he's one of the most exciting players in the league, and just like in 2005, the cover athlete which was melo, had promos with the all star game being in denver, and t-mac will have promos in houston for the 2006 all star game. t-mac should defintely grace the live or espn cover

Mon May 09, 2005 3:02 am

Its surprising that T-Mac hasn't been on the cover. He deserves to be on the cover.

Sun May 15, 2005 2:09 pm

the one annoying thing they need to fix is fast breaks.. when your on a fast break and the players stop running.. totally unrealistic and very annoying.. the guards refuse to run down low and would rather hang out side on a fast break.. very gay

Sun May 15, 2005 3:38 pm

the dumb blocks.. man i want to go up and just dunk on somebody, but its not possible. i swear i never just went up and bashed on someone. they should have like "facial mode" where like if kobe is on fire at the time he should just be able to go up and everything is in slow motion and just bash on somebodies face. i think that would be cool. also each person should have their own shot. like in mvp baseball when you create a pitcher you can choose what delivery you want him to throw, same thing should happen with live.

Sun May 15, 2005 3:43 pm

there should be a bank shot rating, obviously duncan would be the greatest at it, but it should be if you hold lets say L1 while you shoot, the player will shoot a bankshot. the little things in videogames make them the greatest to play

no technical fouls??? I could of sworn i got one once. I was mad and kept pressing the same button over and over really fast. I think it was my time out button. hmmm, it only happened once, maybe it was in a dream...or in a game before live 05. ???

Sun May 15, 2005 6:35 pm

hahah, you automatically get a Tech Foul for calling a Time Out you don't have.

Instead, we recently learned that the NFL 2K developers were combined with the NBA 2K team to begin work on NBA 2K6 for the Xbox 360. EA may have squashed the competition in football, but it better watch its back in when it comes to hoops.

At Microsoft, we previewed in-engine footage of a player tossing up shots.... There was no indication of polygons, skin glistened realistically, and the animation looked true to form. In some of the slow motion shots we were able to watch as the player's eyes followed the ball and a shot from above displayed the muscles in his back flexing as he stretched out his arms. Peter Moore, the head of Microsoft Game Studios, conceded that there was still a lot of work to be done on the flexing of the biceps and lower arms; details that no casual onlooker would catch

to make Live 2006 better... first beat 2k6

As Matt said, technical fouls for calling timeout when you have none left are assessed. I was referring to unsportsmanlike technicals - the NBA won't allow those.
