Converting 07 to 06

Postby MJALLDAY on Sat Jul 24, 2010 4:29 pm

Can anyone give me links to any tutorial that will help me convert 07 roster patches to 06? I really want to convert a 91-92 roster for 07 to 06.

CFs, stadiums and other art should all convert fine

for the dbf files you should open both the 07 roster's dbf and a base 06 dbf and copy values over from 07 to 06 one by one.

so if the 07 dbf looks like this

last name - first name - position - height - weight - dunking

and 06 looks like this

first name - last name - height - weight - position - shooting

you gotta go column by column to convert the players/appearance/teams/location/coaches dbf files to make sure you preserve the 06 format.

i'd recommend using open office to edit the dbf files
Opinions are my own.

Also note that FTRITUAL in 06 represents how many steps back from the free throw line a player will stand whereas in 07 and 08, it refers to an actual ritual. Dunk packages are also different, so you'll need to make some corrections there as well.

Thank you Jao and Andrew very useful information. I tried doing it with DBF commander but I couldn't figure out how figure out how to add fields like this one in the teams dbf called "transport". Thge fields are pretty much the same, I just had to delete a few. I'm gonna try using openoffice.org like Jao suggested.

I use Excel 2003 myself because I happen to have it but from all accounts OpenOffice will get the job done. (Y)

Thanks for everything Jao and Andrew. I'm pretty much done converting a 91-92 roster patch. It really wasn't that much work, now that I know the exact differences it'll be much easier the next time and by the way Jao, open office rules. The only thing left now is the pesky dunk packages. I noticed they interfere with the freestyle moves. I think I'm just gonna change the players who have fss ability using the dunk packs they have in the NLCS because I just don't know what's what with the dunk packs.

The other thing you can do is blank out everyone's FSS info. Change everyone's SUPERSTAR and VALIDSSTAR attributes to 0, then use Edit Player to recalculate ratings and re-assign dunk packages accordingly. After that, you may have to change a couple of dunk packages for Outside Scorers who aren't also High Flyers, since the game often assigns them an inappropriate dunk package. Or if you'd rather just use the values from the NLSC update, that's fine too. Whichever's easiest and best suits your needs. :)

Thanks Andrew but I just changed the dunk packs for the high flyers, it only seems to affect their fss. Plus I only play with the Bulls, I don't think the artwork for the logos and courts is working though.

I ran into some issues with other FSS movesets as well so you might want to doublecheck that, but if all is working well then great. :)
