Just got it just wondering if anyone could help me out and tell me what mods and what updates I need to grab up to get everything up to date. thanks again for the help

You might want to check out the Releases & Previews section as well as the NBA Live PC Project section. 
I'd definitely recommend grabbing Spree's update if you'd like to play with current rosters.

Go to www.download.nba-live.com they have all the mods and patches
