Question about Patching in general

Ok, first off, I'm pretty new and I hope this is the correct forum for this thread. If not, my apologies.
I'm really new to the concept of "homemade" patching. It's awesome. I've done some programming in the past and I'd love to start editing my NBALive 'O6. Does anyone know a good place to learn about editing and creating files for Live?
I've seen some awesome work from pretty much everyone who posts their handywork here and I'd love to try my hand at it.

Programming is pretty much useless when it comes to NBA Live patching as NBA Live isn't moddable when it comes to that aspect. It's mostly just texture and database editing and 3d modeling if the version of the game is compatible with a modeling tool that someone made.

I believe the main site has some tutorials and you can google some others. Sorry but it's been a while since I've checked out the forums so my post might not be as accurate.
