Some Utah trades

Wed Jun 14, 2006 12:20 am

How did I do with these trades:

Carlos Boozer PF/73 and
K. Humphries PF/61 to the Bucks for

Michael Redd SG/76 and
D. Santiago C/54.

The talent matches up pretty well and the Bucks wanted some Power Forwards. But I managed to dump Boozer's huge salary, which seems a little unrealistic.

Second Trade:

M. Okur C/69 and
D. Santiago C/54 to the Hawks for

Marvin Williams PF/75.

In real life I don't think the Hawks would give up on their top rookie prospect so quickly, but they wanted a Center badly, and I gave them two. Again, I dumped a Okur's rather large salary.

Now with cap space, I signed Vlade Divac C/70 and Christian Laetner PF/64 to help out my frontcourt. This gives me a line up of

Starters:
Vlade Divac C/70
Marvin Williams PF/75
Andre Kirilenko SF/90
Michael Redd SG/76 and
Deron Williams PG/71

Bench:
Matt Harpring SF/70
Gordon Giricek SG/67
Christian Laetner PF/64
Keith McLeod PG/63
Greg Ostertag C/58
C. J. Miles SG/60 and
some horrible center . . . I forget his name.

Is this line-up at least mildy realistic? Also, I was thinking of trading Harpring for somebody younger and more athletic any ideas?

man nice trades, in my dynasty marvin is turned into a better version of chris bosh.
you got nice lineup, i always hated utah's bench but giricek can give you some points
i think you got to switch marvin to SF and kirilenko to PF
marvin can play even SG so it can become very handy to you make some rotations
and hamm... is it realistic? if i was instead of you i wouldn't give a sh*t
good thing you wanna throw harpring, try bring up kristic, or even better if bender is still in your game you can get him
anyway go for kristic, or if you want a SF trade, so you can bring raja bell type player, he got nice d

I just traded B. Handlogten C/59 and J. Collins C/54 for
S. Hunter C/64.

I figure this will give me a good shot blocker to back up Vlade. Of course, my biggest need for the draft is a good young center.

Then I traded Harpring SF/70 for Ruben Patterson SF/69. This gives me a defensive improvement in my second unit, and I'm just not a real big fan of Harpring anyway. I think I am just going to stay with this line-up for the remainder of the season.

Kirilenko and Redd on the same team might not be realistic, but I know where you're coming from. I had Okafor, Bosh, GWallace, Redd, and Felton and that was very unrealistic and also easy. maybe you could trade Kirilenko for a solid SF and a Center. I find Josh Smith a pretty good blocker and a highflyer. Divac's pretty old, so I'd also get a good young Center with the Kirilenko trade.

I would have kept either Boozer or Okur. Utah's frontline of Boozer, Okur and AK is a pretty nasty frontcourt combination if you know how to use them.

Pretty good job of dumping out hupe salaries ~(Y)
However, I like Collins more than Ostertag...
(dunno y but he just gets more rebounds and pts than Ostertag...)
since u get Steven Hunter, i would trade Ostertag(forgot his salary)

I remember when I did a Jazz dyno, i did almost the same thing, except I went for Okafor and Jones(? i forgot) rather than Redd, and had Hunter as starter C.
