This error occurs when you have the Avery Johnson player face installed. You need to rename that patch AEJOHNS and change his PLAYERPKG in players.dbf accordingly.

No, it's better to change the instance in players.dbf, leaving the coaches.dbf file reading the default Avery Johnson cyberface from the coaches art folder.

I'm not really fussed about fixing this, but, I changed Coaches.dbf back to AVJOHNS and went into Players.dbf to look for AVJOHNS and there was no occurance of this in playerpkg. I've looked in coach art folder of my main NBA live directory and I don't have AEJOHNS, can it be somewhere else?

If you don't have Avery Johnson as a player in the roster, he won't have an entry in players.dbf. But, if the AVJOHNS.viv file is there with his player update by glen, it will conflict with the one used by coaches.dbf. All you need to do is change AVJOHNS.viv in the sgsm folder to AEJOHNS.viv.

There is no possible way it can occur unless there's that Avery Johnson player face patch in the sgsm folder (whether it's been added to a roster or not). Nothing in the current roster will cause the error.

i have the same problem with Seattle coach. It's actually kind of funny.

In your case, you've probably installed the NLSC roster update but the face file for Bob Hill hasn't installed properly. You can remedy that with the method described in Faces Troubleshooting.txt.
