RICHARD HAMILTON... FREESTYLE SUPERSTAR???

Sat Jan 28, 2006 10:09 pm

i just dont understand why richard hamilton has no offensive freestyle superstar skill knowing that in reality, he leads detroit in scoring.. i think he has the potential to be an outside scorer..

How many superstars do you want the Pistons to have?

Sun Jan 29, 2006 3:50 am

all five starters :lol:

Sun Jan 29, 2006 4:19 am

no needs for caps, goto the roster release thread bring it up nicely to andrew and he will look at it.
Anyways why do u care u can just adjust for yourself.
Unless your in a leauge :lol:

tayshaun isnt an scorer, and i hardly thing rasheed wallace should be. If it were to be real accurate Ben would still be a power player, rasheed would be just a defensive stopper, and the same would be true for tayshaun. Rip would be an outside scorer, and chauncy would be an outside scorer/playmaker/(possibly)shooter, and then make ben a defensive stopper. Thats it. I'd think thats more accurate, but andrew says he doesnt want to boost or decrease ratings just for the sake of it, and i understand that so there is no point and just giving the FSS to anyone, or taking it away.

Sun Jan 29, 2006 1:25 pm

I've already been asked to look at Rip's ratings so I'll check it out. But if it means making unnecessary/unrealistic changes I'd avoid it.

I definitely made sure Ben Wallace was a power player in the latest update. It should have been corrected in previous updates but he's definitely got the ability in v1.04.

ben w. ........=>power,inside stopper
Rasheed w. .=> inside scorer,inside stopper
T. prince......=>inside stopper
R. hamilton...=>maybe O.scorer(his ppg 21.7)
bilups..........=>P.M. outside,stopper

Tue Jan 31, 2006 4:32 am

in reality, if hamilton should have outside scorer, rasheed shouldnt have inside scorer, hes only averaging 14 ppg, and the only other player averaging that low is jamaal crawford, and he should have o. scorer, when i went to a sonics vs. knicks game he lit up the sonics scoring all 35 of his pts in the 2nd half.

All five of the pistons' starters hould be superstars they have argueably the best team in the NBA for the past three years

Uhm.... No.

Prince probably shouldn't be a superstar. Rip probably shouldn't be.

That's true enough, but no reason to assign superstar abilities they don't/shouldn't have.

the "BEST TEAM" for the past three years "my ass"...who were the 2005 NBA CHAMPIONS, they werent the best team, one of the best teams, you still got Heat, Mavs, Suns, and keep your eyes on the 2005 NBA Champions!

Sun Mar 12, 2006 9:36 am

Before this year I wouldve said hell no RIP aint a superstar, but hes shooting 50% from the field and he ranks second in 3pt% at 45%. 3pt shooting was never a part of his game but he really worked on it this year. He should be a shooter

Sun Mar 12, 2006 12:40 pm

I'll take a look at his ratings and see if it's feasible to raise his ratings for outside scorer or shooter.

Mon Mar 13, 2006 10:48 am

I dont think he should be a shooter because he aint a 3 point shooter like Barry, Allen, Stojakovic, Redd, etc., If I was you I'd put him as an Outside Scorer, because that kind od goes with RIP!

hah,syas the dude wit the Pistons logo as an avatar

Mon Mar 13, 2006 4:41 pm

Rip should be a shooter/o.scorer - without changing any ratings... just SUPERSTAR and VALIDSTAR edit will be enough for him.

Mon Mar 13, 2006 4:58 pm

The problem with that is, at some point the game is likely to recalculate the ratings (or it'll happen when I'm editing him) and those abilities will be gone. If he can be given those abilities legitimately I'd rather do it that way. As I said, I'll take another look at him.

Hes shooting the 3 ball better than all of them. So yeah a shooter would be best, when I think of scoreres I think of people who take alot of tough shots, and create on their own but shooters are for the high percentage/efficient scorers. I dont know if youve ever heard the sayin hes not a shooter hes a scorer, well it RIP is the opposite hes got a sweet jumper and shooter fits him best.

Tue Mar 14, 2006 12:09 pm

yea hes shooting the ball better than all of them because hes averaging like 2 or 3 attempts per game, aint that tru and sometimes during games he is 2-2 or 3-4 or 1-1 or even shoots 5 of them and misses all of them and if he should be a shooter, you put him however you want it but some how if I was to like the Pistons or Hamilton I would've put him as a Scorer, outside scorer, your choice, whatever

Tue Mar 14, 2006 4:44 pm

I don't think Rip should be made into an Outside Scorer just because he's playing well on a good team. Outside Scorers hang in the air, attack the basket with fancy around-the-back and up-and-under moves. Rip pretty much plays within the system, running around multiple picks to free himself up for an open mid-range shot (in the game, the play is "Highflyer SG"). He shouldn't be given abilities that he doesn't really have.

Fri Mar 24, 2006 5:58 am

definitely should make him a shooter.

Fri Mar 24, 2006 10:47 am

We'll see. As I said, I'll consider it. I can't promise I'll make that change.

Fri Mar 24, 2006 11:21 am

whoever wants him as a shooter go and see the "how to make a Superstar:The Guide" and do it yourself using the Rating Machine 2.1, thats what I did with Tony Parker, made him an Outside Scorer using the Rating Machine 2.1 and looks great

Sat Mar 25, 2006 6:13 pm

i REALLY dont think he should be a shooter, the shooter FSS is reserved for only the best shooters in the game, i.e. Ray Allen, Korver, Rashard Lewis, Michael Redd, Dirk Nowitzki, Quinton Richardson.....

There are a few guys who probably shouldnt have it, i.e. tmac, joe johnson, or maybe even kobe (though he does make, but also takes, a lot of contested 3's)

Rip Hamilton is no better a shooter than iverson or sam cassel or vladamir radmonovic, but those guys arent shooters and rightly so. Just because he can make contested jumpers and hits 3's doesnt mean he should be a pure shooter and assasin from the arc like say, ray allen or michael redd is.

Outside scorer on the otherhand is the kind of guy who makes the tough jumpers and can score on the inside, as well as hit open 3's. He isnt a volume shooter, no, but he does make some pretty tough shots, and he creates his shot off the dribble, and has that unique mid-range game that would warrant him the FSS Outside Scorer ability. If you read interviews with Rip he talks about how he's worked hard on his mid-range game, and that is what makes him unique. Having a good mid-range game doesnt warrant him the Shooter ability. Its no different than saying iverson should be a shooter because hes a great jumpshooter.

Oustide scorer FSS is a good idea, shooter is not.
