ouch...u might have to wait out some of those contracts...or look for people that are becomin FA the next year and have equal salaries and trade some of ur high cap players for it and you'll have more cap room to work with

377K under the cap isn't that bad. A championship team and clearing the cap don't go together. I say trade Sprewell and Harparing for a good PG. And maybe trade Dirk for a young player who has less salary. That should clear a lot of salary.

i always look to the future. So far I haven't really settled down and kept determined to keep anyone. D. Howard is my first one that I'll do that with. I'm saving and trading for expiring contracts so I should get LeBron. LeBron and Howard as my frontcourt :)

Great! You're doing a Hawks dynasty too...

This is my lineup at the start of the 2008-2009 (4th) season. I won a championship with mostly this lineup (with lower stats) in the 2006-2007 season.

C: Yao 91/Bogut 80/Dak 66*
PF: Amare 95/A. Jefferson 76/Harding 70*
SF: Josh Smith 86/G. Green 78, Sellers 68*
SG: Gordon 83/McCants 72/Closs 70*
PG: Livingston 78/D. Williams 76/Murray 65*

* Computer-generated player

I was about a million under cap during my 2nd season, but now I'm 16 million over cap. You're bound to go over cap if you have a great team eventually.

I think you should look towards the future (as PHX4LIFE said) and go for some players you want to keep for several years. Here are a few suggestions of players with decent potential over several years...I've got the player, team, and the overall rating they'll be around after 2 seasons that should be affordable for you:

- C: Bogut (MIL 78) or Biedrins (GS 72)
- PF: Gooden (CLE 79) or M. Williams (ATL 79) or Diogu (GS 76) or A. Jefferson (BOS 75) or Villanueva (TOR 73)
- SF: G. Green (BOS 76) or Graham (TOR 73)
- SG: Gordon (CHI 82) or Webster (POR 73) or Pietrus (GS 73)
- PG: Telfair (POR 78) or Felton (CHA 76) or Livingston (LAC 75) or D. Williams (UTA 62)

I'm not sure salaries match, but I'm sure you can get a couple of these players. It should be easy to acquire a power forward with potential, since there are plenty in your range.

Someone also mentioned contracts. What I tend to do, especially with huge contracts for worser players, is trade them off to some team who has slightly worse players but can match salary for the most part. For example, I'll give up a player with an overall rating of 67 for someone 65 that has an expiring contract. That doesn't hurt me on the long run, so then I'm under the cap again for the next season.

dude, he sucks :p chris paul went to 74 after 1 season. And I have raymond felton at like 75 after 2 seasons on my team

Sun Jan 22, 2006 6:16 pm

I made a typo on Deron...it's supposed to be 72, not 62.

I haven't really paid attention to how good Chris Paul gets...how good does he get?
