injuries at crucial times....

Tue Nov 22, 2005 2:46 pm

so after a disappointing last season (54 wins) i'm going for a 65-70 record and i was on pace (37-7) until within 5 games i lose 3 starters....Hamilton (12 days), Prince (11 days) and now Brand (3 weeks).

Without Hamilton and Prince i got my ass kicked but without Brand it's game over already. Interesting thing is that last season i had 3 injuries at roughly the same time (post all star tbreak)

anyone else have an assortment of injuries pile up.

In my Utah Dynasty, i was down to 9 players at one stage (5 injuries) in the first month (that's cos i played every game + injury frequency was at 100)

Well, I haven't had anything go wrong in mine. Just a few minor injuries. Which reminds me in one of my latest games we play hack-a-Davis and killed him off and he sat out the whole game but he only had a sore thumb (N)

my kobe got injured for 5 weeks i think during 2nd game of my 1st season (and only season so far)... good thing kwame brown was able to fill the void along with contributions from the other Lakers. the team's record was 8-7 before he returned

in one dynasty i was trying to make peja an mvp contender but then one november game he suddenly got an injury lasting 7 weeks, i think it was a hyperextended knee.
he was leading the stats race too... top ten in rebounds, top 15 in assists, tops in scoring. damn was i bummed out.

Alvin Williams, and not once, but twice. Yes, i know he isnt good at all in live (i use him as a 3rd stringer, when calderon/james needs a rest or when one of them is in foul trouble), but he was crucial on my team, not to also mention pretty much the most loyal member of the raptors. i was on a 5 game winning streak before he got injured, we were like 11-8. After he got injured, i lost 5 straight, causing me to drop to 11-13. After he came back, i won the next game, improving to 12-13. He got injured the very next game and i lost another 4 games, making me drop again to 12-17...he came back after those 4 losses and i won the first game he came back, and right now my record stands at 13-17. Damn, when alvin goes down, the whole team goes down.

yeah... i got villanueva injured for 6 weeks and that left a huge hole in the middle, lucky i was able to fill that.. but still, it leaves my lineup depleated. then i get jarron collins injured for 2 week, and kirileko injured but playable for a week, so its tough. and i was on a roll too

there could be something wrong with the way you play if your relying on a 3rd string to win matches for you...

i had yao ming injured in the playoffs one season, he was scoring 40+ppg as well, so i lost without him
